Don’t let the size fool you, this kid can go. She is a downhill threat that can attack gaps and finish at the rim. A driver who gets people to collapse on her and then makes the right read to either finish or kick out. I was impressed with her ability to compete and go up against older guards with no problem. She announced herself and played solid on both ends of the floor. She has great handles, brings a spark to the floor when she plays, and she is a tough kid who definitely has a bright future. Look for her to be a spark for her ballclub and help them compete deep into postseason play.

Good things happened when Desleign had the basketball for Team Seven. Whether she was initiating and facilitating the offense (as much as you can in a showcase) or knocking down catch and shoot jumpers from the perimeter, McGuire was very impressive playing against much older kids. She showed a lot of composure and maturity handling the basketball, never getting sped up or out of control. That poise for a young play caller is quite rare. McGuire was a lot of substance with very little flash. It wasn’t necessary as she was able to effectively to hard job without making it more complicated than it needed to be. Very bright future for Desleign in my opinion.

A change of pace guard who is solid on both ends of the floor. She is a solid defender, but on offense she is excellent with the ball in her hands, a downhill threat who can create off the dribble. She brings speed and creativity into the Dyersburg family, looking to increase their guard play. She will look to make some noise this season as they continue to establish their winning ways. She is a tough competitor who plays the game with passion. Look for her to uplift the program and contribute early.
