Expert Analysis
John Millyard | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Mesa Benedictine got a steal with their recent commitment from Brown. Very quick, was able to slice between two defenders and score the layup before they could close the gap. She has a very quick release on her shot and is a mid to deep range specialist. Brown is a hustler and will put it all on the line to put her team in a winning position. Very strong on the defensive side. Brown is a dual sport athlete who was very sought after for both basketball and flag football. She will attend Mesa Benedictine and play both sports.

Brown has always passed the eye test — length, athleticism, ability to get downhill. But this year, it finally all started to come together. The game slowed down for her. You saw more control, more polish in her scoring package, and better decision-making in space. She’s no longer just an athlete making plays — she’s a basketball player who understands how to impact the game. That growth makes her someone who can step in and contribute at the next level.

One of the fastest guards in the state. Can dribble in and out of traffic and weave her way to the basket. She was scoring at will in the first half where she scored 16 of her teams 27 points. She is an all around player who hustles every possession. She was a nightmare on the defensive side accounting for many steals. Dove for the loose ball which led to points for the Badgers. Brown finished the game (unofficially) with 33 points and 10 rebounds. Arguably the most under recruited player in the state.

Brown is very quick with the ball. She was able to get by just about anyone that guarded her. Great player in transition on either end. Has a high level jumper and can score effectively at the basket while drawing the foul. A player who is already receiving college interest which I expect to continue throughout the remainder of the season. Plays with a strong motor and makes play after play. Very vocal and great leadership. Brown is very active on the court.

Brown had one of the top showings at the showcase. She showed the skill and strength to play just about every position on the floor. Very skilled in all areas. A sniper from deep that also used her footwork and dribble to get a nice middy up. Finished well at the rim. A nightmare on defense for her opponents. Brown is getting a lot of attention from in state school and I expect that attention to keep growing at a rapid pace.

is still somewhat under the radar and it is perplexing. She always makes an impact whenever she plays because of her incredible athleticism. She is one of the fastest players in the state getting up and down the floor either offensively or defensively. She is long for a shooting guard, and she has the ability to be a shut down defender. Offensively she can score in many different ways. In transition she is extremely efficient finishing on the break. She can create shots for herself off the dribble and she can hit mid range pull-ups.

may be the most underrated player in Arizona as she heads into her Senior Season at Tucson High. Destiney was the 6A South Region Offensive Player of the Year last season for the Badgers. She is a lightning quick Guard that is a nightmare to cover in the open floor. She is a long, quick defender that gets a lot of steals and makes things happen in transition and fast breaks. She is a solid shooter that can score on all 3 levels. But her defensive prowess and ability to neutralize opposing guards is her most valuable asset. She is always improving her overall game and she has a tremendous upside for a college that takes a chance on her. Destiney will be at the Nike TOC in Las Vegas on July 11-14th.

Brown is one of the best sleeper prospects in the 2026 class. She has track-like athletic ability which poses matchup nightmares for unsuspecting opponents. Brown thrives in transition on both ends of the floor. She uses her quickness and athleticism to disrupt the passing lanes to create turnovers into transition offensive opportunities. If she can develop consistency at scoring from the perimeter, her recruiting stock will soar.

is a terrific open court player that is a nightmare to cover in the open floor. She is a multi level scorer and defender. She is another highly underrated player in Southern Arizona that is just now starting to get recognized for her incredible talent. She earned 6A South Region Offensive Player of the Year last season, averaging almost 17 points a game. She will go down as one of the best players to come out of Tucson High, which says a lot. She will also play on the next level.

Brown is a blur in the open court for the Lady Badgers. Her first step is as quick as anyone in the state and with her perimeter game getting better don’t be surprised if she is among the leading scorers in the state.
