Young, a 6’0 Center, took the varsity stage last season as a Freshman and killed it. She put up respectable numbers in middle, scoring, rebounding, and defending like her life depended on it. She finished the year off by averaging just over 2.5 BPG, really demonstrating her worth not just as of offensive threat but as a defensive stopper in general. With Young only being a 2028 prospect, she still has three more years to make her mark on her program. If she has been working in the off-season, I’m sure her progression will be evident year-by-year.

They say Young is always working to be in the right positions on both sides of the ball, she possesses a higher motor than most other at her position or that are her age, and that there could be a foundation to build on here. Young also made big impacts defensively with 2.1 BPG and 2 SPG in their 24 contests. This is an impactful presence. She works with her natural size advantage to bully her oppositions underneath the basket. Especially in conference. I wouldn’t be surprised if Young finishes her high school career averaging a double-double. If that happens, it will definitely be something to be proud of.

Young is a player out of the 2028 Class with better size than most at 6’0. Within her conference, Young has the natural advantage of her size and that’s been obvious throughout their first 17 games. She is sitting in second place in PPG on the season, while being first in RPG. This is only the beginning for Hay Springs and a player like this. If they continue to stack their days, I’m sure they will continue to see success moving forward.
