Gilbert is 5’3, and that places her in the #sizedontmatter category, and when you see her diving for loose balls as well as in your face defense, baseline to baseline, she stands out but last season, she showed me how well she could shoot the long ball in the clutch and nothing has changed as she immediately set the tone by dropping it from deep as well as scoring off the dribble. Her court vision and playing the passing lane were also pluses

My colleague @playerrimidies had seen her go off before I did see evaluation here so when I finally caught her on the PGH Circuit, I was impressed with not only her ability to create her shot and drop it while being defended, her “poise under pressure” stood out as she wanted the ball down the stretch and delivered

Gilbert’s end-to-end speed allows her to blow by defenders and weave through traffic with ease, but it’s the power she plays with that truly stands out. Though not the biggest guard on the floor, she plays with a fearless physicality allowing her to absorb contact and finish strong at the rim. A combo guard that started out the tournament with double digit scoring and never cooled down the rest of the tournament. A consistent mid-range game added with a quick first step-down hill consistently got her fouled or layup. Not only was she a scorer but also filled up stat sheet with assist and steals.

Dorianna is a perfect example of a young lady that tagged me with her highlights from Friday. So, on Saturday I made it a point to stop by and watch her team play. She did not disappoint as she dropped in 19 points to go along with other stats. Show great range on the 3-pointer and got to the rim with the finish when ran off the line. Good defender that created turnover with a steal or deflection. Played tough yet still had a team effort attitude with good body language. Player I was glad she reached out as I enjoyed watching the way she plays the game.
