She consistently stretched defenses with the ability to knock down three-pointers, whether spotting up on the wing, sliding to the corner off a reversal, or pulling up off the dribble when the opportunity presented itself. Mahshie’s smooth mechanics and confident follow-though made her a reliable threat from anywhere beyond the arc. She moved well without the ball, making herself available for open looks within the flow of the offense. Her perimeter scoring ability added valuable spacing and offensive balance for her team throughout the season.

Eleanor Mahshie Eleanor Mahshie 5'9" | SG Yorktown | 2026 State VA had a solid week for Yorktown. Yorktown is a scrappy team that has lost some competitive games to really good teams. They went 3-0 this week, and Eleanor led them. Eleanor can knock down threes, and she does a fantastic job attacking the rim. She is athletic and doesn’t shy away from contact. She is a defensive playmaker, and she rebounds well for her size. Eleanor is a good passer and can fill up a stat sheet. She had her best game early in the week against Wakefield when she had 16 points, 8 assists, and 6 rebounds. She ended the week with game-winning free throws in a 1 point win over a good McLean team.

Prep Girls Hoops Lead Scout

Very good athlete, she even played on a flag football team! A high basketball IQ she goes north to south and doesn’t over dribble the ball. Off the bounce she knows how to get to her spot either for a pass or layup at the rim. A good defender and is a ball hawk that can produce a lot of steals from the two guard position. A good three point shooter that can finish through contact in the lane!

Good three point shooter. Finished through contact and played physical ball. I was really impressed with how she thwarted a bigger player from posting her up. She was not having it and totally rerouted her out of position.

Eleanor knocked down many threes on the day and was one of the better offensive players I saw. She has a quick release, and even though she knocked down a couple early, I didn’t see her start putting up bad shots. She was also solid on defense and someone I felt was underrated coming in.

Yorktown guard Eleanor Mahshie Eleanor Mahshie 5'9" | SG Yorktown | 2026 State VA is a terrific shooter. She gets the ball off quickly and playing on a team with so many good passers, her ability to knock down open shots is huge. Eleanor is a good driver and passer and one of the more underrated players on this team.
