About Eliza

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Hard work and hustle, team first mentality, I look to lift up my teammates. I’ve been described as gritty by coaches, willing to do the little things that others aren’t. I try and be a coach on the floor, relating the coaches instructions to my teammates.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Gritty, willing to do the little things that make a team successful. I work to rebound, play tough defense, communicate and do whatever is needed of me on the floor.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have attended workshops and camps that focus on being a leader among my peers. Not just a leader but leading by positive feedback and holding one another accountable. My focus has been to be a solid, positive teammate and be extremely coachable. Good sportsmanship has been a focus since I began recreation league basketball.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

During my 8th grade AAU season I saw my playing time significantly cut, I continued to work hard on practice and be a good teammate. I had conversations with coaches to see what I could improve upon. I tried to make the most of my time on the court. I broke my collar bone as a freshman and lost most of the season, I focused on learning to think the game even more, tapping into my coaches knowledge

What type of college are you looking for?

A school with a solid academic program that cannot not only grow me as a basketball player but as a person as well. A place where staff and coaches are focused on bettering student athletes.
