Ella was another one of the very best players at a showcase full of high-level players, several of whom already holding scholarship offers. Porter, herself, has offers from Union, Arkansas-Fort Smith, Tennessee-Martin, and the latest coming from in-state Lipscomb. It was no surprise to see that she was a part of a state championship team last year with Greenfield as she made winning plays throughout the four hours. She scored the ball with ease and a little bit of flair routinely from all three levels, but most of her damage came getting to the basket and finishing. Porter weaved her way through the defense like it was Swiss cheese and used a variety of finishes with both hands at the rim. I would not be surprised at all to see her sign with a division team when she graduates in three years after competing at a very successful high school career.

I’m not saying she is that girl, but she is a very close comparison to her. Paige Bueckers. All I could think about was this young lady moving with the ball in her hands. She was going at opponents. Getting into her bag, finishing through people, scoring on every single level. Then her passing was incredible. I’m talking about the vision was crazy how she threaded the needle. She’s the truth, and she let everyone know who she was. Talented kid who is very special for sure.

She’s a bucket. One who can score from all three levels seamlessly. She plays with poise, hunts great shot attempts, and isn’t afraid of the big stage. This kid got after it last year, introducing herself to the high school scene. She parlayed that into a solid travel ball season, during which she received multiple D1 offers. This kid is a nominee for Miss Tennessee for her class and will only get better as the years go on. She’s a solid two-way player who warrants coaches’ attention when game-planning. Look for her to get after it and build upon a solid foundation she has already laid. Look for her to terrorize opponents this upcoming year.

 A prospect with tremendous upside. A star in the making, this playmaker gets buckets and plays with such confidence. One who can knock down shots from anywhere on the floor, she is effective and efficient as they come. Her specialty is stroking it from 3, but don’t sleep on her ability to attack. She gets buckets. Already eclipsing the 1000 mark in her freshman year. On the defensive end, she will contribute by getting steals and rebounds. This kid is an all-around player who is going to cause havoc for many years to come. Look for her to be one of the top prospects in her class, with coaches definitely on her. High-caliber kid who will reach many milestones throughout her high school career.

A sharpshooter who, once she found her stroke, there was no slowing her down. She’s a bucket getter, and she can light it up from all three levels. She was a true battery mate, making the 1-2 guard tandem of Greenfield lethal as all get out. Once the ball went through the net a time or two, she was locked and loaded, and more points were to come. She’s an all-around player who will be up for the Miss TN basketball award. Mark my words, this kid is talented and will receive a lot of attention for her style of play.

She put everyone on notice with her scoring ability and wasn’t afraid of the big stage. Averaging 23 points, 3.7 steals, and 2.8 rebounds and shoot 45 % from 3, it clicked early and often for this young lady during her freshman campaign. Her club advanced deep into state contention, and she was a factor in its success. She wasn’t afraid of the big stage and will look to have similar results this upcoming year. Keep tabs on this young lady as collegiate coaches will start taking notice of her exceptional talents.

For Porter’s first go at the state tournament, she played well. In the two games her Greenfield High School team played, she made three 3-pointers. Two of these makes came in her first round game against Van Buren High School, and her other make came in the semis against Richland.

Porter’s effectiveness from shooting behind the arc also translates to the midrange. Also, at 5’9″, Porter is good at playing off the dribble and can score and create offense in the paint. This should continue to grow as a strength of her offensive game moving on in her high school career.

She hit some key 3s down the stretch and always seems to be in position to let it fly from multiple spots on the floor. She’s had a fantastic freshman year and looks to build upon the momentum she’s set. She’s not done growing, but this was a game that let other areas in the state know exactly who she is.

In securing a district title and a one seed for the region tourney, freshman Ella Porter Ella Porter 5'10" | PG/CG Greenfield | 2029 TN was named the District 14A Tournament MVP.

Porter can put up points in a hurry. She has a smooth jumper that can be utilized both in the mid-range and long-range. Porter is also a good cutter. She knows how to find the open gaps in the paint and convert on these scoring chances when they present themselves.

In the district tournament semi-final, her scoring skillset helped her get a game-high 31 points against Lake County. In the final against Dresden High School, she scored 22 points and also showed her defensive upside, logging three steals.

Greenfield will play in the first round of the regional tournament on Friday against Bradford High School.

This young lady has jumped onto the scene like no other freshman this season. Averaging 23 points a game, 4 steals per contest, and contributing on the boards, she has risen through the ranks and made a name for herself. Super tough individual who competes on both ends of the floor. Her squad won the state last season. With her on the floor, they will be looking to run it back again (not just this year but for many years to come). Keep an eye on this sensational talent as she is just getting started.
