A sharpshooter who, once she found her stroke, there was no slowing her down. She’s a bucket getter, and she can light it up from all three levels. She was a true battery mate, making the 1-2 guard tandem of Greenfield lethal as all get out. Once the ball went through the net a time or two, she was locked and loaded, and more points were to come. She’s an all-around player who will be up for the Miss TN basketball award. Mark my words, this kid is talented and will receive a lot of attention for her style of play.

She put everyone on notice with her scoring ability and wasn’t afraid of the big stage. Averaging 23 points, 3.7 steals, and 2.8 rebounds and shoot 45 % from 3, it clicked early and often for this young lady during her freshman campaign. Her club advanced deep into state contention, and she was a factor in its success. She wasn’t afraid of the big stage and will look to have similar results this upcoming year. Keep tabs on this young lady as collegiate coaches will start taking notice of her exceptional talents.

Freshman Ella Porter Ella Porter 5'9" | PG/CG Greenfield | 2029 TN is definitely a player to keep track of going into the 2026-2027 school season.

For Porter’s first go at the state tournament, she played well. In the two games her Greenfield High School team played, she made three 3-pointers. Two of these makes came in her first round game against Van Buren High School, and her other make came in the semis against Richland.

Porter’s effectiveness from shooting behind the arc also translates to the midrange. Also, at 5’9″, Porter is good at playing off the dribble and can score and create offense in the paint. This should continue to grow as a strength of her offensive game moving on in her high school career.

She hit some key 3s down the stretch and always seems to be in position to let it fly from multiple spots on the floor. She’s had a fantastic freshman year and looks to build upon the momentum she’s set. She’s not done growing, but this was a game that let other areas in the state know exactly who she is.

In securing a district title and a one seed for the region tourney, freshman Ella Porter Ella Porter 5'9" | PG/CG Greenfield | 2029 TN was named the District 14A Tournament MVP.

Porter can put up points in a hurry. She has a smooth jumper that can be utilized both in the mid-range and long-range. Porter is also a good cutter. She knows how to find the open gaps in the paint and convert on these scoring chances when they present themselves.

In the district tournament semi-final, her scoring skillset helped her get a game-high 31 points against Lake County. In the final against Dresden High School, she scored 22 points and also showed her defensive upside, logging three steals.

Greenfield will play in the first round of the regional tournament on Friday against Bradford High School.

This young lady has jumped onto the scene like no other freshman this season. Averaging 23 points a game, 4 steals per contest, and contributing on the boards, she has risen through the ranks and made a name for herself. Super tough individual who competes on both ends of the floor. Her squad won the state last season. With her on the floor, they will be looking to run it back again (not just this year but for many years to come). Keep an eye on this sensational talent as she is just getting started.
