Burke-Brown had an outstanding game in their win over Decatur. She ended the game with a double-double, 16 points and 10 rebounds, to go along with five assists and four steals. She was 6-of-12 from the floor, including 4-of-6 from 3-point range. All game, she picked her spots well, made good reads, and took what was available.

Ellery was the star for Roosevelt in this matchup against West Seattle. She played with a ton confidence, and it showed with her knocking down several three-pointers in this game. On top of her shooting, she has good court vision and runs hard in transition. The junior guard had a tremendous showing against the Wildcats.

Ellery’s game has become very well rounded, she can score from all 3 levels at a high rate and defends the opposing teams best player every game with no hesistation. Burke-Brown lets it fly from deep and sinks it more than she misses, in her first game she drained 6 threes. She finished with 22 points and 6 rebounds.

Burke-Brown is a tough guard who uses her balance to score efficiently from different levels. She has a smooth jumper, can knock down shots from outside and off the dribble in the midrange, and has the handle to break down defenders and work closer in. It’s her balance that really helps her take advantage of space, getting back to a solid base after creating space off the dribble for jumpers, and staying strong while attacking driving lanes or changing direction downhill.

Ellery is a dynamic threat on the offensive end and can help her team out in different ways. She has a very effective mid-range shot, and is also comfortable shooting from three-point range. She can also find her shot amongst traffic in the paint, a great quality for a combo guard. She should continue to be a be a crucial part of Roosevelt’s squad next season.

Ellery is a player who can give you a bit of everything on the offensive side of the ball. She can get into the paint and score, hit a mid-range jumper, or knock some three-point shots down. She displays really good hustle defensively and if she continues to improve on that side of the ball, she could be even more of a problem for opposing Metro teams this upcoming season.

She’s a poised guard who can play quick, make smart decisions, attack under control, and should be a big leader for a young and talented Roosevelt squad. Look for Burke-Brown to set the tone and spread the ball around while providing some efficient scoring for Roosevelt next season.
