Emma is a defensive powerhouse, bringing unmatched energy and intensity every time she steps on the court. Her ability to create momentum-shifting defensive plays makes her a key asset to her team. Offensively, Curtis showcases smooth scoring skills, effortlessly finishing at the rim and knocking down mid-range jumpers with precision. Her two-way excellence solidifies her as a standout guard with immense potential.
Curits had a huge game in a win over Decatur, finishing with 17 points, six rebounds, and four steals. She started the game off with big energy on the defensive end, racking up deflections and pokes on her way to the four steals. Did a great job using her speed to get out in front of the defense in transition for easy buckets too.
While her shooting sample from this game wasn’t very large, Emma shoots the ball with a ton of confidence, the same confidence she has in all of her abilities. She’s super quick and twitchy, which offensively can help her create space to attack or shoot, and on defensive she racks up steals and plays with great pressure. She’s going to be an outstanding player for this Roosevelt team for a while.
Curtis is a ball of energy who is a playmaker on both ends of the floor. She is a fast player with good instincts who always seems to be around the ball, chasing down boards, getting outlets and pushing in transition, or creating turnovers on the defensive end. She’s someone you have to be aware of on the defensive end and is also an excellent passer out of her paint touches on the offensive end.
Emma is a very talented guard with a lethal offensive skillset. She utilizes her quickness to breakdown her defender and get into the paint with ease. She also has a great looking jump shot that she shoots with confidence. She also works extremely hard on defense and sniffs out opportunities for steals. Emma is a spectacular young player who will look to have a big sophomore season.
Only going into her Sophomore year at Roosevelt, Emma is a guard who uses her speed to her advantage on both ends of the court. She makes things uncomfortable for whoever she’s guarding and has the ability to sniff out steals. Offensively, she thrives getting downhill and finishing in the paint with a floater, or laying it up with either hand. She also has shown the ability to knock down open threes. Emma should be a young star for years to come.
Curtis is a player who can start and sustain runs with her high-energy play. She’s aggressive in passing lanes, shows great reactions and burst to get to long passes, and gets the pace going in transition. She also reads her defender really well while off the ball which results in lots of give-and-go’s as well as her getting the ball in lots of space to attack.
Speed and energy are the name of the game for this Roosevelt freshman. She announced her presence against Holy Names on Monday by snatching four first half steals and at least one more in the second half. She was all over passing lanes, getting up into ballhandlers in their full court press and showed some outstanding quickness and reactions. Curtis also sunk a couple of paint buckets, using the glass and finishing with either hand. And although she wasn’t particularly effective outside the paint in the first half, she came back in the second to nail two big 3s extending their lead in the fourth quarter. Holy Names kept fighting back in the final few minutes, but Curtis was there each time to stave them off, hitting a big runner in the lane to make it a six-point lead with 30 seconds left, then sinking a pair at the line with 16 seconds left to seal the eight-point win.
