As a freshman, Ellie Collier didn’t just arrive—she took over. Earning League MVP honors, she quickly became one of the most dynamic offensive players in the league.

Collier is the definition of a three-level scorer, capable of hurting defenses from beyond the arc, in the midrange, and at the rim. What sets her apart is her explosive first step, allowing her to consistently beat defenders off the dribble. Once she gets downhill, she’s decisive—always in attack mode.

Her advanced feel for the game stands out, especially for such a young player. She reads defenders well, recognizing angles and exploiting positioning with confidence. Combine that with her ability to shoot at a high level, and you get a player defenses simply struggle to contain.

What separates Collier is her balance as a scorer. She can stretch the floor with a smooth, pure jump shot, but she’s just as comfortable attacking the rim and finishing through contact. Playing heavy minutes all season for Garfield-Palouse, she showed a level of composure that’s rare for an underclassman.

Collier delivered one of the Vikings’ strongest performances with 13 points while knocking down three three-pointers. She provided important scoring during stretches when Garfield-Palouse was trying to keep pace with Neah Bay. Collier also contributed defensively and helped initiate the offense from the perimeter. Her ability to score from outside helped keep the Vikings within reach during the early portions of the game. Performances like that gave Garfield-Palouse chances to stay competitive throughout the contest.

Collier led the Vikings with 14 points while also contributing four rebounds and four assists. She helped organize the offense and created scoring opportunities during Garfield-Palouse’s second-half run.

Her all-around production helped stabilize the Vikings as they turned the momentum of the game.

It’s not often you see an 8th grader making plays in the state championship game, but Collier defied expectations. Scoring 10 points while adding 6 rebounds and 4 assists, she played with maturity well beyond her years. A 1st Team All-League pick, Collier impressed with her versatility—able to shoot, drive, and defend. With years still ahead of her, she’s a future star already playing at a high level.

Collier is another member of the 2029 class who played up with her high school’s varsity squad this past winter. She ran point at Garfield-Palouse and helped them finish second at the 1B state tournament. Collier plays beyond her years with heady decisions and some technically sound moves to get to the hoop and finish. She’s another player to keep tabs on who shows some real potential in the 2029 class.
