Elsie Newton Elsie Newton 5'3" | PG/SG Palmetto Christian-Mt. Pleasant | 2028 SC did well playing defense grabbing the steal and finding her open teammates going the other direction.  She hustled up the court grabbing the pass and scoring an old fashioned three point play in transition.  She did well relocating off the pass to get the ball back as she flashed to the basket for some points.

Newton is another of the notables that put together an impressive Peach Games weekend for Team Charleston 16U. Throughout her athletic career, she has not only played on the basketball court but also the soccer pitch. This past season, in Jimmy Tyson’s first season as coach, Newton was a key factor in SCISA 4A Palmetto Christian putting together a 18-10 season. Newton would play in 27 of the Eagles’ 28 games while averaging 7.9 points, 3.2 steals and 2.3 assists per contest. Making plays in the transition game and connecting on 3-pointers are merely two of the positive attributes to Newton’s game.
