Bring the popcorn out when watching Elyse. She’s a bigtime player that’s a nightmare matchup to go against. Ngenda is showtime and she came into the summer scorching hot with offers from Stanford, JMU, Fairfield and Mississippi State. The 2-way sensation is gearing up for another tremendous season after winning New Hampshire’s Gatorade Player of the Year award.

What’s not to like about Elyse’s game? She can fill it up with the best of them from 3 levels plus she’s quite the active defender. The shot making ability and primary creation shown from Ngenda can be counted upon as the offense progresses or she can make plays happen in isolation possessions. There was standout traits demonstrated in some games that can be quickly glossed over, but they absolutely put into context what type of elite player she is. Ngenda’s effort getting after the ball in hustle plays and getting her teammates involved was what stood out. Elyse’s national ranking is certainly justified behind her dynamic upper-class game.

One thing that became clear was how premier Ngenda truly is as a bucket-getter. Apologies for not being familiar with the caliber of scorer she actually is. Elyse finished the weekend top 8 in scoring on the 3SSBG circuit, averaging 18 ppg. What was even more impressive was how efficient she was while putting up a considerable number of shots. The midrange prowess is certainly unrivaled. Her dribble set ups aren’t the fanciest, but she keeps the waisted movements to a minimum and gets straight to the point into attacking. The pull up shot is absolutely tremendous, with the addition of a high quality 3-point shot that can be found within the flow of the offense. Elyse doesn’t just need clean looks to knock them down either. Altogether, Ngenda is quite potent; she showed she could score from all 3 levels, plus she still retained those foundational elite defensive characteristics.

Elyse started off the game early by testing her range from a solid triple threat position, catching the defender off guard. This knockdown shot was a great way to establish herself being productive. Ngenda’s effective 2-way play was overwhelming at times for the opponents. She brought a ton of energy that gave New Hampton the competitive edge ultimately. Elyse was bombarding Hoosac with assaults on both sides of the ball. She made play after play at just the opportune time.

The #1 ranked combo guard in the class is a stellar talent. She brings the unique skillset of being able to be highly productive within the schematics of the offense, but she also has this uncanny ability to create from nothing. As the games get tighter in crunch time, there’s many players better suited for putting together exceptional runs that can get their squad to prevail. Not just an offensive threat, Ngenda serves as a relentless defender that disrupts the flow of the opposing team. Elyse loves to make plays on the ball to get out on the break. All that being said, there’s no surprise she’s bringing in high-level offers like the one just received from BIG 10 school Northwestern University recently.

Hofstra- Offer
Ngenda is the #5 prospect in the 2026 rankings and has proven to be one of the best talents at the position. An outstanding 2-way talent. Elyse works in any scenario on the floor, but what’s most impressive is her will at creating her own scoring opportunities. Not just an isolation scorer, Elyse tends to make baskets from angles unheard of. An incredibly reliable pull up jumper that is highly efficient is a staple in her game. Hofstra is the most recent school to offer her.

Player Comparison: Oluchi Okananwa
Ngenda has more than just a shade of Okananwa’s game in hers, the comparison is almost spot on. Elyse is a tough nosed scorer that can put the ball in the basket at a very efficient rate while remaining a tremendous passer and defender, just like Okananwa. Elyse is a sharpshooter from deep range off the bounce or catching in the swing of the offense. Ngenda defends intensely and all game long. She can guard head up or while in help position at an elite level. She also has the ability to come up with a bunch of steals and deflections that lead her to easy points. After watching Elyse play in some tournaments this summer, it’s clear she is one of the most versatile combo guards in the area. Her tenacious 2-way skillset is unmatched and makes her an elite prospect. Elyse doesn’t have to dribble the ball excessively to get baskets. She is very structured in her scoring prowess and wastes little movement on the court. Although she does sport impressive passes in transition and dazzling euro steps on the way to the hoop, think of Ngenda as businesslike. Ngenda’s game is well suited for the college game and she will make a tremendous 2-way player for whatever school she decides to choose.
Currently Ngenda has offers from over 5 different schools. New Hampton is looking to have a great upcoming season with Elyse being at the head of the regime. Excited to see what’s next for Elyse this upcoming season and the rest of the summer.
