Custer is a polished interior presence who knows exactly how to operate in the post. She does the little things that separate good bigs from great ones — establishing position above and below the block, moving her feet to create space, and presenting a clean target for entry passes. Once she catches on the block, she is decisive and efficient, turning to the basket with confidence and finishing through contact. Her ability to generate second chance opportunities is a major asset, giving her team extra possessions when they need them most.

was the player who took the most advantage of that. Emme did a great job moving without the ball to get easy shots at the rim. Manor did a great job on the glass, but the one offensive rebound Emme got, she turned into a tough lay-in over a number of people. Emme showed off her touch and finished with half of her team’s total points with 20.

Custer provides Salem with size and a strong interior presence. The forward thrives in transition, consistently running the floor and positioning herself ahead of the ball to create scoring opportunities. During the semifinal victory over Hampton, Custer showed excellent awareness on fast breaks, cutting into open lanes and finishing at the rim. She angles her body well to receive passes in stride and quickly convert around the basket. Her ability to finish through contact and capitalize on transition opportunities makes her a valuable offensive weapon.

was dominant. Emerson does a lot of things well, but she is at her best out of the post. She has good touch around the rim and is a skilled finisher. Woodgrove is a team that loves to shoot, so coming in, I felt like it would be their shooting against the inside scoring of Salem. Emme was unstoppable in this one and dominated the glass. She had 26 points and 13 rebounds.

Emerson had a nice half hook shot over the shoulder that she executes even better than a basic layup. She has some range from away from the basket which could come in handy when the double teams come in to play. She runs the floor well and catches and finishes on the move in a single motion.
