Point production is not everything, of course, but sometimes the numbers do tell a story. That’s true for Johnson who was a role player on last year’s veteran-laden Eagles’ squad averaging just 2.9 points per game. After mass graduations, Emerson was thrust into a lead role this season and her play has been a revelation. She she leads the team in assists, steals and points at over 17 ppg. Once talent aligned with opportunity, Johnson made it clear what she can do. Emerson can get downhill, shoots with range and works hard at both ends. She rises 28 places to #77.
