I’ve already talked about Erin Akins Erin Akins 5'11" | SG/SF Mountain View | 2028 State AR once recently, as she made the record books thanks to some stellar postseason play during her freshman season.
Akins is tied with a bunch of other players for the 10th most threes made in a state tournament game at 6. That was done during the 2024-25 season, and so were these other two records.
Akins is 13th all-time in state history in most threes made during the regular season, and she made that leaderboard when she hit 112 triples during her freshman campaign. That same season, Akins hit 46.4% of her perimeter attempts, which is good for the 7th-best all-time in state history.
Erin Akins Erin Akins 5'11" | SG/SF Mountain View | 2028 State AR is truly a great 3-point shooter, and I would be interested to see if she can get herself back into the record books this coming year.

Again, Mountain View is a favorite to win the 3A title, and my personal pick. Erin Akins Erin Akins 5'11" | SG/SF Mountain View | 2028 State AR is one of several players on this team who will be responsible for the Lady Yellowjackets making it all the way.
Over the last month or so, Ouachita Baptist, Arkansas Tech, Drury, and Maryville have offered Akins after a strong freshman campaign and a solid summer with Team ISO. Akins proved that she was a great 3-point shooting threat, hitting the perimeter shot at around a 50% clip.
Akins torched defenses throughout the season, dropping 26 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals against Valley Springs in early February and putting up 29 points and 8 rebounds against the eventual 4A state champs, De Queen, in January.
Erin Akins Erin Akins 5'11" | SG/SF Mountain View | 2028 State AR is an offensive machine who can get going at a moment’s notice. At times, there is no stopping Akins’ lights-out shooting, and that will be important for her team if they want to win a ring next season.

Mountain View clearly does not have any problem giving their freshmen significant minutes. Erin Akins Erin Akins 5'11" | SG/SF Mountain View | 2028 State AR has had some great games so far this season, and I do not expect her to let up any time soon.
Akins is a great outside shooter who can get going in a split second. She went off for 33 points against Russellville earlier this month, connecting on 7 of her 9 threes. If she is chased off the 3-point line, then Akins can simply take her defender off the dribble, scoring on the way to the hoop. She uses a soft touch around the basket and can finish over taller defenders.
On defense, Akins is becoming a turnover monster. She recorded 7 steals against Cave City in November and 3 versus Jasper just a couple of nights later. She can jump out in front of a pass and take it the other way, or she can pick your pocket.
Erin Akins Erin Akins 5'11" | SG/SF Mountain View | 2028 State AR is one of those players who is starting to find her stardom in just her first high school season. It seems that Mountain View has at least one player from every class that has a college basketball future. Akins makes it two in the 2028 class.
