She may not be a kid who scores consistently in double figures, physically overpowers kids, or puts a massive stamp on a game, but she figures out ways to help her team win games. Even when Edgewood had an all-systems failure against Xavier, Schauer put together a solid first half to keep them in it before earning a narrow victory. She makes massive plays when they matter. She’s a winner at her core.

In D3, Schauer may have been the most intriguing breakout of the state tournament. Had it not been for her offense in the first half of the title game, there are a few worlds where Edgewood could chip away at the Xavier lead, but that is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to her game. The 5’10 wing does anything her team needs her to do to help them win games. She can defend on the perimeter, rebound, score, defend multiple positions, and pass. You may see her play the opposite role that she played three days beforehand. She can slot into any role in any game and find success.

HUDL HIGHLIGHTS

Players like Schauer are the ones coaches seem to like having the most. She isn’t a super vocal kid on the floor in that she never gets too high or low on any possession. I feel you can trust her to make things happen with the ball in her hands, and she’s as reliable as they come, even when she’s playing on the brightest stages. Schauer is also a long athlete who can defend a couple of different positions on the perimeter while also digging in and rebounding when she’s needed. Small schools should look at her if they have time to see her Wisconsin Elite group this summer.
