Barbu does a great job controlling the tempo for the Black Hawks. She can attack both right and left making it tricky for defenders to force her to a side. Her ability to drive opens up the three point shot where she’s got a nice, quick release. As a guard, she’s not afraid to get inside and crash the glass to get her team a second chance opportunity.

Evia has the length and fundamental skills needed to be targeted as a next-level prospect. She shoots accurately from the perimeter, finishes layups with excellent touch, handles the ball with confidence, and distributes accurate passes to teammates. I expect her to have an even bigger season for Bloomfield Hills as a sophomore.

Evia was a dynamic player for Michigan Heat at Jamfest on Saturday. She drained a smooth pull-up jumper off the dribble and finished an athletic reverse layup. Evia swished a long gun straightaway triple and added another triple from the wing. She converted three straight free throws with balanced, high-snapping follow-throughs and delivered an excellent lob pass on the money to a teammate for an assist. Evia is a prospect I’m excited to see more of this spring.
