Expert Analysis
Evan Bell | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Gabby had a monster freshman year at Buchanan, posting 16 points, 13.7 rebounds, and 5.2 blocks per game. She has a very high ceiling at the college level with her length, fundamental skill set in the post, physicality, and impact on both ends of the court. Gabby will be the premier post prospect to watch in the 15U age group, and I’m expecting her to dominate in the paint at the PGH MI College Tour on Saturday.

Gabby had a monster freshman year at Buchanan, and she has one of the highest ceilings as a forward prospect in this class. She averaged 16 points, 13.7 rebounds, and 5.2 blocks per game. If Gabby keeps that pace, she’ll eclipse the ultimate milestone for a post with 1,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds. She was First Team All-Conference and will be one of Michigan’s premier 6-footers to watch on the circuit this spring.

Gabby’s high school career is off to an impressive start, and she put up three straight double-doubles for Buchanan last week. Gabby scored 23 points with 18 rebounds and four blocks in a narrow 48-50 defeat against St. Joseph. She followed with 22 points, 13 rebounds, and six blocks in a 64-31 victory at St. Joseph Michigan Lutheran. Gabby scored 18 points, secured 16 rebounds, and blocked three shots in a 57-39 win at Dowagiac. She ended the week with a dominant 63 points, 47 rebounds, and 13 blocks. She’s providing plenty of evidence to support her top ten ranking early in the season.

Gabby enters her freshman season at Buchanan with the tools to make an instant impact and quickly establish herself as one of the area’s top young forwards. Standing tall with excellent coordination and balance, she uses her footwork to create high-percentage looks in the paint and finishes with a smooth, controlled touch. Her presence on the boards is just as impressive, as she consistently cleans up misses and extends possessions with her strength and timing. Gabby’s combination of size, skill, and natural feel for the game gives her the potential to be a major force right away—and a player whose long-term ceiling is sky high.

Gabby showed me that she had the potential to be a top forward prospect at a tournament in February, followed that up by impressing multiple PGH scouts on our travel circuit, and cemented her place among the best with a dominant day at the Freshman Showcase. She earned All-Showcase Second Team and All-Defensive Team honors. Gabby has the height, outstanding footwork, strong rebounding, and soft touch around the basket to be a highly recruited college forward. She will be an immediate star for Buchanan on day one.

Gabby is a skilled and dependable presence around the rim, finishing strong with either hand and showing no hesitation when attacking the lane. She battles for position inside, seals defenders effectively, and has soft, reliable hands when receiving passes in tight spaces. On the boards, she competes with effort and strength, always looking to secure second-chance opportunities. We’d be excited to watch her bring that same intensity to the PGH Freshman Showcase.

Gabby showed off her potential as a next-level prospect when I watched her for the first time in February. She uses a variety of effective pivot moves to score in contested situations. Gabby finishes confidently using either hand around the basket and can drive downhill. She is a strong rebounder who works hard to seal defenders and has good hands when catching entry passes. Gabby left a great impression on our PGH scouts at the Indiana State Tournament, and looks like one of the top front-court prospects in the 2029 class.

Gabby has great length and is a force in the paint. Does a nice job on the offensive boards, and was impressed with the way she runs the floor and gets set up in the paint. She has a very high ceiling and with continued work in the gym, coaches will talking about this young lady!
