She’s now capable of attacking the rim, creating for others, and defending the full length of the court. Her relentless effort during the course of the game makes her stand out every time she takes the floor. That balance of shooting, playmaking, and defense gives her one of the more complete guard skill sets at the showcase.

Newbie was likely her team’s most reliable spot-up shooter this summer stretching the floor. She also improved her handle, which allowed her to put the ball on the floor and get to the rim. In transition, she pushed the pace and made the right reads to create opportunities.

Gabriella showed improvement from three this season, adding more range to her shot and becoming a threat as soon as her team crossed half-court. Her confidence in shooting from deep made defenses respect her more. As an underrated ball handler, she also showed the ability to put the ball on the floor and attack when needed.

Newble is the type of player that every team wants and needs. She keeps the energy high and does the grunt work on both ends. With wonderful handles and at her height, she has an advantage over shorter guards. Her court vision is excellent, seeing open players in both the open court and in half court sets. Gabrielle is great coming off screens, able to hit open jumpers from the two or the three. She also has the power to get to the hoop and finish among the taller post players. On defense, Newble is every where on the floor. She has quick hands and feet, getting stops on dribblers and shooters, and has the strength to help on post players in the paint. Horizon will continue to be a force behind this impactful sophomore.

Her smooth, repeatable shooting form makes her a constant threat, especially in high-pressure moments. Gabrielle’s ability to deliver in clutch situations sets her apart as a dependable scorer.

Gabrielle is known for stringing together big shots, especially when her team needs it most. She has a knack for knocking down clutch shots in critical moments, whether she’s spotting up from beyond the arc or stepping into open spaces on the floor. Gabby’s ability to find those gaps in the defense and make opponents pay is what separates her from others.
