A player who wasn’t initially on our radar has now fully captured our attention. Her self-promotion forced us to take notice, and since then, we haven’t looked away. At our PGH FL Expo, her energy and vocal presence stood out immediately. From there, she showcased elite scoring, finishing at the rim and shooting off the catch. Defensively, every hustle play was hers, she was determined that no one would outwork her, making her one of the best defenders in the gym purely based on effort. We expect her to be a potential double double threat at Melbourne this year.

The forward stood out in the last few showcases: her length, outside shooting, hustle on the floor, and the ability to score the ball while attacking the basket. No loose ball is safe around Francois. She keeps plays alive – dives for loose balls, leaps into the stands to save balls, and crashes the offensive boards. Francois is versatile and athletic and is gaining momentum as the new season starts.

She consistently drove to the rim and finished with explosiveness and through contact. She showed confidence stepping into a mid-range jumper and shooting from behind the arc. Her hustle was unmatched — she seemed to be a step ahead on every loose ball, repeatedly saving possessions by tracking them down before they went out of bounds. She rebounded aggressively on both ends, using her speed, athleticism and timing to extend plays. Defensively, she clogged driving lanes and contested shots. Francois ate all day at the Expo — serving defenders a steady helping of energy and execution. Effort was her bread and butter, and she served it hot from start to finish, keeping opponents on edge every trip down the floor.

Gessicah’s film showed she is one of the speediest players in Florida’s 2027 class. She uses that speed and length to blow by defenders in transition and also catch them on the defensive end with chase down blocks. Her step-through move and ability to knock down deep 2’s with solid form make her a serious threat on both ends of the floor. I’m excited to see her compete against some of the best in Longwood this weekend!
