Expert Analysis
Sam Duren | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Dennis had one of the best individual performances of the event. The powerful and quick guard is equally capable of getting hers in the mid-range or at the rim, as she is at setting up her teammates. Fast and agile in transition, good luck stopping her when she gets a steal or pushes off a rebound. Has an elite spin move on those takes to the rim. Monster in the mid-range, with the occasional three as well. The Coweta Lady Tiger appears to have “IT”, as on a court filled with future D1 players she stood out by making play after play. Currently has a Northeastern State offer.

Dennis has already been a key part of two Class 5A semifinals teams. And as a junior has carried the load as the top returnee. Quick and strong, she’s like a runway train when pushing it in transition. Especially as she has good awareness and instincts in defensive passing lanes for steals. Similarly effective at slashing in the halfcourt and can draw crowd, leading to creation for others. Has had some games this where she’s shot it well from deep. If she can continue that trend, she’ll be a very popular name among college coaches. And could add to her offer list, which includes NSU.

Dennis has had a strong stretch this January, featuring wins over Edison and Tuttle, along with a close battle against district foe Booker T Washington. She’s a dynamic guard, who brings experience as a starter on back to back 5A State Tournament reams. This year she’s combined her athletic scoring ability with full stat sheet performances. Including 18 points, 6 boards, 5 assists and 4 steals vs Edison. Against Tuttle, she went for 21 points. Then in a battle with an athletic Booker T squad, she put up 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Her ability to create for others off her drives is a big step forward. Dennis has been offered by nearby Northeastern State.

As an underclassman, Dennis was an exciting change of pace guard for an upperclassmen heavy Coweta team that won a lot of games. Her burst and strength allows to push it in transition, and earn paint touches in the halfcourt. Junior year is pivotal for Dennis, as she’ll have to carry the scoring load and be the number one option night in and night out. The physical traits are there for Dennis to take her game to another level. Especially as she continues to improve her feel as one of the most dynamic drivers in Oklahoma.

Dynamic off the dribble threat, Dennis has a good first step to get downhill. And the strength to finish at the rim against contact. Seems to be growing as a driver, with more patience on some of the drives. Including flashes of being a playmaker, with good reads in transition and kicking out to shooters in the halfcourt. Streaky three point shooting in the contest. When she was in rhythm in catch and shoot situations is when she looked the most comfortable and efficient as a shooter.

Fast and strong, Dennis led the way with 18 points. Was a pest with three steals as well. She’s strong at the rim and has an in between game. The sophomore spark plug has her helped senior laden team in the semifinals for the second straight year, where they will again play El Reno. This time, they’ll be the hoping for a different outcome.

Dennis is no stranger to making plays in the playoffs, she was a clutch contributor last year at the State Tournament. She had 17 in Tuesday night’s win, including a tough score in the fourth quarter. The sophomore is a speedy and tough guard, who will be a handful for opponents next week. But she’s not the only sophomore Tiger to keep tabs on. 2027 forward

provides extra size and athleticism. Which will be vital when matching up against the tall and physical opponents that will make up the 5A field.

Fast and strong lead guard for one of Class 5A’s top contenders, Coweta. Terror in transition, quick hands on the ball and anticipation skills in passing lanes. Great end to end speed adds to her dynamic transition ability. First step makes her a halfcourt threat when it comes to getting painting touches. Very strong start to her high school career as an underclassman making an impact on a successful team. Will be interesting to track her development as she continues to work on her feel as a point guard and changing gears/playing at different pace as an attacker.

A nice combo guard that has great handles in the open court. An aggressive down hill driver on offense that can handle the contact finishing several times. A very shifty driver that uses a slide step to avoid the charge on the drives. An all out hustler on defense that creates turnovers and physical enough to win the 50/50 ball Shooter from 3 point range but also possess a very nice mid range game. Great lift on her finishes.

The freshman led the way for the Lady Tigers with 19 clutch points. She has a quick, athletic and strong frame that makes her a handful off the dribble and in transition. While also connecting on both of her three pointers. With promising signs of athleticism combined with the clutch, winning performance, Dennis is a 2027 prospect who requires further monitoring.
