This is my favorite PG out of the 2031 Class at this time. Gia Diaz-Doolin Gia Diaz-Doolin 5'5" | PG/SG Cedar Rapids Washington | 2031 IA ‘s ability to see the entire floor and hit her open teammates with an assist is eye opening. She isn’t just giving out simple passes against bad defenders. We have seen her make cross-court passes with her off hand on the fly, we have seen her set up the pick and roll game to get her bigs open touches within the half court, and we have seen her leave defenders looking stupid while hitting her cutting teammates in transition. Don’t get it wrong though – Diaz Doolin is good enough to get her own as well if need be. It’s just not her go-to.

I was maybe the most impressed with Gia Diaz-Doolin Gia Diaz-Doolin 5'5" | PG/SG Cedar Rapids Washington | 2031 IA as a whole and how well she did showing off her best abilities in this one. Diaz-Doolin is PG #1. Sometimes you hear me say that phrase and it means that Diaz-Doolin is the type that you can give the ball to and you can trust her decision making as a coach. You know that she is going to make the smart play and most importantly – the RIGHT play every single time she has the opportunity. The vision, passing, and selflessness we saw out of her today reminded me of a good college PG. There were times she over thought the pass coming down the court but that’s apart of the learning process and apart of growing up within this game. It’s scary to think that she is only going to be an 8th grader. She should start this Winter at Cedar Rapids – Washington. If she does and she gets some of that Varsity experience early on in her career – it’s all for the better. She is one heck of a competitor and she will be another out of this group that will have a chance to play at a HIGH level on the college floor with the right guidance.

You can see a little bit of Diaz-Doolin’s older sister in her game. It’s calm, collected, and calculated. Offensively, she can be your team leader as the PG as she gets others open off her creation or she can score it herself when things happen to break down. Defensively, she is really good at sticking on the match across from here. She can move between the guard positions depending on what is being asked of her and she is always someone that is willing to get her hands dirty when it comes to rebounding. All in all, G.D.D. is another name to note. At this rate she is going to be a producer at the high school level one day as well.

We are not sure where Gia Diaz-Doolin Gia Diaz-Doolin 5'5" | PG/SG Cedar Rapids Washington | 2031 IA is going to be attending high school but where-ever it is, they are going to receive someone who can shoot the leather off of the ball when she has confidence. Don’t get it twisted, Diaz-Doolin can do some other things as well. Her handle is better than average, she is athletic for her size and position, and she isn’t afraid to mix it up with anyone who might be bigger than herself. All in all, there is a solid base to build on here. As long as she stays dedicated, the possibilities moving forward are endless right now.
