Nichols seems to be a regular feature here. Her game is on another level right now and it’s hard to not include her in these conversations. This is clearly a top player in New England.
Gianna dropped her career high of 33 pts in a major win vs Dexter at home. Nichols also recorded 6 reb plus 2 ast. Her offensive onslaught backed by the team’s tough defense proved to be too much in the marquee matchup. This was such a worthwhile watch and the dynamic senior guard’s impressive performance is one for the books this season.

Nichols is worthy of all the hype this season. Her numbers and splendid skillset are nothing short of striking. Gianna’s Friday night 28 pt, 4 ast performance was key in leading a late comeback to secure a bigtime win at home. This unrelenting pressure she puts on the defense is second to none.

Gianna had her career high of 30 pts against Lawrence Academy. She was absolutely imposing as she connected on 8 strong 3-pointers while adding 8 reb. On Friday against Rivers, Nichols was also a substantial figure in a win posting 18 pts along with 7 reb. Gianna doesn’t look to be cooling down any time soon either. Its undeniable, Nichols has been one of the most dominate guards in the entire region.

What a year Nichols is having. It’s hard to believe there was another gear she could switch into, but the senior is doing so dignifiedly. Gianna put up 25 pts, 10 ast and 6 reb in St. George’s win vs Groton. Nichols isn’t looking like she’s slowing down anytime soon either. Opposing teams should be wary with her playing the way she is right now.

Gianna is off to a strong start to the season. She has an impressive mid-range pull-up jumper and can create space for herself effectively. She punishes teams trying to play a 2-3 zone by shooting over the top, finishes strongly around the basket with a deep bag of moves, and plays well off the pick and roll, finding open teammates with her smooth handle. Against Berkshire she had a strong showing, finishing with 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals. She also knocked down 4 three pointers in this game.

Gianna is a Le Moyne commit and a confident shooter from beyond the arc with a smooth handle that allows her to beat defenders off the dribble and finish craftily at the rim. She sees the floor well and does a strong job setting up teammates, particularly in transition where she runs the fast break effectively. When defenders overplay her shot, she makes them pay by attacking the lane and getting to the basket.

Gianna has showed she’s heavily trusted to run the offense as well as create for herself as needed. The senior had a double-double performance against a very tough Tabor team last weekend. She put up 24 points and had 10 rebounds, with 8 of those coming on the defensive glass. If Nichols continues pouring this level of production out, the competition should be worried. It’s becoming even more clear why Gianna is considered one of the most dynamic lead guards in the region. NEPSAC should be on notice this season.
