was one of my favorite late-game sparks, finishing with a flurry of buckets and free throws to get the Stormin’ Pointers over the line. Estling is an excellent cutter who doesn’t need to be the primary ball handler to make a big impact. On face cuts, curls, and running the floor in transition, Estling showed her ability to score with either hand off of two feet and with speed. She also reads closeouts well and will drive past you for a smooth pull up if the lane is occupied. Showing confidence at the line and ability to step up in the big moments,

‘s impact off the bench last night for CPU. Every time she checked into the game she made a play and brought the energy up for her team. In the first half that was from a back cut that drew a foul (and two made free throws), and in the second half she came in and jumped a passing lane right away for a steal. Estling also showed consistent decision-making on offense and a solid handle by finishing multiple tough left-handed finishes. I loved her defensive effort too — as an undersized guard, she held off players much taller than her to get defensive rebounds for the Stormin’ Pointers. Estling was also in the mix at the end of the game, proving that you don’t need to be a starter to be an impact player.

has plenty to be proud of from her freshman basketball season at CPU. Despite playing limited minutes last year, Grace averaged 5 points per game while shooting 43.8% from the floor. In addition she grabbed 2.4 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game. Combining that efficiency with grit from the course and on the soccer field makes for a hustle player that anyone would want on their team, especially with such wide-spread scoring coming from the Pointers last season.
