She’s not afraid of the moment and not afraid to try things, which some college coaches will find intriguing because it’s easier to build and develop that type of talent. Whether it’s D1 or D2, Greta can be a spark at the next level for a program.

A raw talent simply gifted with a high level of skill. Greta is still playing the game off instinct and athleticism, which is wild to think about because she’s already dangerous from all levels. From beyond the arc, she’s confident, and when she attacks, she’s risky… but she truly believes those buckets will fall. This summer could be when some offers start rolling in.

Getting some time in the semifinal game earlier in the day, probably gave her a boost of confidence in the final game of the day. Greta finished with 10 points (4-6), with 2 threes and two assists. A lot of potential is there for the freshman.

The athleticism, and raw talent is there for Thompson. She plays a frenzy type of game but when it works.. it works. Offensively she can score, but in her role at Fremd she’s been showing flashes of a playmaker as well. Defensively she can recover and use her length to guard the perimeter.

The new Midwest Elite member has been the talk of most conversations over the summer. The talent is clearly there and the potential to secure multiple D1 scholarships isn’t far fetched either. The Fremd program should be in great hands with all the underclassman talent. Leading that young talent is Greta. Athletic, risky, and versatile. She can score from all levels, aggressive on the defense end, and has the motor to be impactful on both ends. With nothing but time on her side, Thompson has the chance to have a huge impact this season.
