It is always interesting to watch how an 8^th grader plays during varsity competition.  Some look young and scared, where others look unfazed and determined.  Overby is the latter.  She would come into games this previous season and make positive plays right away.  She is a strong 5’10 and looks like she has some room to still grow.  I like the way she moves her feet and defends without fouling.  Her timing on blocking shots is really impressive.  She stops the ball in transition and is able to sprint back and scramble.  She is a young player who played significant minutes this past season and one who will be hungry to increase her role going forward.
