North Dakota Rankings Release: 2030 New Additions

Some look young and scared, where others look unfazed and determined. Overby is the latter. She would come into games this previous season and make positive plays right away. She is a strong 5'10 and looks like she has some room to still grow. I like the way she moves her feet and defends without fouling. Her timing on blocking shots is really impressive. She stops the ball in transition and is able to sprint back and scramble. She is a young player who played significant minutes this past season and one who will be hungry to increase her role going forward.     Landry gained some valuable varsity experience last year during her 8th grade year.  I reached out to her head coach to get some insight into what makes Steffes special as a player.  Here is what he said: “Landry had a very good first season at the varsity level as an 8th grader.   She is a good shooter with the potential of being a great shooter.  Landry plays a lot of basketball in the offseason, whether it be the AAU circuit or just shooting in her garage at home.  She finished the season as our team's 3rd leading scorer while coming off the bench.  Landry will have to develop more consistency in playing hard all the time, as I believe it took her a while to adapt to the speed and physicality of varsity basketball.  I'm confident she absorbed that learning curve during her 8th grade year and will be just fine going forward.  She projects to be a great all around player as she shown flashes of greatness on offense, defense, and rebounding.”     Keiara is a promising prospect for the Patriots. She is a formidable presence down low. The Patriots could be really scary in the future with Poitra and new transfer [player_tooltip player_id='1718094' first='Lily' last='Edinger'] securing the paint. She does a good job of defending without fouling by keeping her feet and not reacting to shot fakes. She is a terrific rebounder and can take the ball out of the net, find an outlet, and race up the floor for easy baskets. Her Hi-Lo game is really impressive for a young post. She is a talented young forward who is going to be battling for playing time in the near future.     Blake is already one of North Star's best players. She is a good athlete and stands at 5'8, a good height for a guard. She is shot ready and has a quick release. She can knock down the three, even when she is closely defended. She has good fundamentals. She boxes out and chases after long rebounds. If there is a loose ball, Nicholas is the first one to get on the floor to secure the possession. Lastly, she is a solid ball handler with a strong grip. It is very difficult to turn Blake over.     Autumn was described to me from a trusted source as a "Diamond in the Rough." This source sees a ton of potential in the Spoiler forward and Autumn has the size and athletic ability to produce. Autumn will be fighting for varsity minutes immediately in 2026-2027 and should help secure an already tough post presence for Grafton. She has an impressive frame and is very skilled for her age and position. She can also step out and knock down the three. Autumn appears to be a basketball junkie and I am excited to see what next year looks like for her.
