Imari is player I saw a lot of during her freshman season with Luella use her power and strength to have a very positive impact on games. She was one of the very best players on a team filled with future college players competing against the best teams in the Southeast. It was her skill and finesse that I had not seen her play with on the perimeter that impressed me most. Thompson always sprints out hard on the break and usually scores a few times in transition in the games I have seen her play in the past and she did it again with regularity at the showcase. She was very good putting the ball on the floor versus bigger, slower defenders on the perimeter and getting to the basket while also showing the ability to elevate over smaller guards and finish. She is already a legit college prospect who has a very good chance to be a division one player.

Imari showcased a versatile skill set and impacted the game in a variety of ways on both ends of the floor. With a strong, physical frame, she played through contact and brought toughness to every possession. Defensively, she was active and disruptive, generating deflections, steals, and blocked shots while using her strength and instincts to make plays. Offensively, Imari stretched the floor by knocking down the three-ball and also displayed impressive footwork in the paint. She showed comfort operating with her back to the basket which was highlighted by a smooth spin move and strong finishes around the rim. Her ability to contribute inside and out makes her a very intriguing prospect moving forward.

Thompson is another big guard for Luella who did a lot of damage inside, on offense especially, against Military Magnet. She was relentless attacking the basket using a variety of moves off the dribble, in one case a nice spin move, and did a job using the glass to score. She repeatedly got into the heart of the defense from the wing. One play she drove left before gathering herself and scoring with her left hand in traffic. Thompson did a nice job drawing fouls and shot the ball well from the free throw line. She also handled the ball very well against the full court press.
