Central Connecticut is getting a forward that provides plenty of favorable advantages. Isys can serve as a mismatch in any given game and provides solid defense across the boards. The experience playing post plus having opportunities on the wing too have really opened up her game. Dunphy is such a resourceful player that’ll add a lot of positives.

Isys has developed her game a great deal over the years. She brings the energy no matter what her role is and she’ll do the same wherever she finds a home at next. This a tweener that can be utilized in a variety of ways.

The versatility and well roundness shown from Isys has made her an even more intriguing prospect. Rivals has allowed her to showcase her full skillset and she’s made it a point to capitalize as a key feature of the squad. Her tenacious spirit makes her a fearless 2-way warrior that gets after it each possession. Her game has been evolving and coaches love players that can adapt while still making an impact.

Dunphy was one of the more striking players from the start. She showed she could handle the early press in the first quarter by filling the point forward role. Dunphy was able to push the pace on both sides of the ball. One of her more impressive attributes was her passing skills, particularly in the first half. As Isys was on the move her eyes threw the defense off and she hit teammates with accurate dimes that led to baskets. She did mix it up though, when moving downhill she was also able to get to a bunch of different finishes. Isys showed the knack for having a soft touch scoring around the basket despite the defense being draped all over her. Within halfcourt sets, most times she was most effective from the high-post area. The forward was able to be a part of many of the actions from there as teammates moved the ball around the perimeter. This eventually allowed her space to operate when players shifted, giving her the opportunity to take advantage of matchups from there. Even when Dunphy wasn’t getting the ball, she crashed the glass like a madman. Her ability to keep possessions alive with offensive rebounds can’t be mentioned enough. Defensively, the agile forward sped ballhandlers up and was able to stick onto guards like glue all game long. Her athleticism as well as active hands agitated the opposing team’s offensive creators which led to a handful of turnovers or even some jump-balls. Whenever Isys had the chance to make a play happen she took it. She was able to get a few impactful steals to get out on the break for some easy ones. Steadfast is a good word to describe Dunphy’s faculties. She’s been on a tear lately.

Isys had herself a nice first day of play on the 3SSB circuit. She erupted for 22 pts, 10 reb, and 2 ast. The double-double performance is nothing new for the versatile forward. Her strong 2-way play makes her unmissable. It’s invigorating seeing someone play with such passion each possession.

Side note: Those Harden 9s are such a goodlook onthe court.

Dunphy has been a foundational piece for Cushing this season. She’s tasked with guarding multiple positions in isolation possessions, crashing the glass, finishing underneath the rim, playing help-side or providing strongside defense, creating for herself from the nail and even knocking down some stationary jumpers. The versatility Isys brings is something a lot of scholarship level schools will be looking for. She’s a player that knows exactly where to be, when she needs to be there. Night in and night out Dunphy comes to play. She has all the qualities a hardworking forward require to be successful. Not only is Dunphy a high yielding player, but she also has a team-first mentality that’s incredibly beneficial for the team. With the momentum picking up for Isys this February, Cushing will be an interesting team to watch as the season gets tighter.

Isys has an incredibly athletic frame coupled with lustrous downhill moves that make her a bit of a mismatch at times for players at the position. The sheer athleticism is already naturally dominating. Many times, Dunphy isn’t required to use her full skillset as a creator under the 3-point line. Isys will find a way to just put the ball in the hoop. She has a knack for hunting down offensive rebounds and putting them back up. She does this by fighting for position which is something that comes somewhat easy to her. She seems to shed boxouts and tracks boards straight after the bounce. On defense she’s extremely versatile. She has the ability to play the big in small ball lineups or if the team calls for it, she’ll guard a perimeter player. Dunphy is a x-factor type player. She can definitely push the envelope for Cushing.

The newly acquired Cushing Academy wing/forward is an excellent all-around talent. Dunphy is comfortable just about everywhere from the perimeter down to the block. Dunphy is a patient and athletic player that uses her natural gifts to her advantage. Very long strides and great size make for an excellent 2-way wing talent. Not overly exceptional at one area, but solid in many categories. An understated part of Dunphy’s game is her in-between scoring. She has a knack for finding the ball and just figures out ways to score in unconventional spots on the floor. Isys has a developed pull-up jumper that she uses from midrange generously. On defense, her frame allows her to stay with shooting guards, wings and even smaller centers at times. Isys can switch screens or fight over them to recover quickly. At Cushing this year, she will get a chance to test her skills up against premier talent and expect Dunphy to make at mark at her position in NEPSAC. Schools should surely be alerted of Isys and her potential as a 2-way wing.
