There were not many players at State in ANY Class that only competed for one game and they still made the Classes All State Team at the end of the week but Jacey Johnston Jacey Johnston 5'10" | PF/SF Saint Ansgar | 2026 IA of Saint Ansgar was one of those individuals. Johnston was dominant as a Forward this Winter. Every game she competed in, she put up respectable numbers near the middle of the lane as a scoring threat and rebounder on both sides of the ball. She also was someone that played solid defense overall, controlling the lane for her team whenever plausible with her communication, physicality, and foresight. Johnston helped her team get to DSM and then she put up a double-double in points-rebounds. This just shows everyone a glimpse of what Johnston was about this Winter. Numbers like these were common and that only happens inside the paint when you have a next level competitor on your hands.

Jacey Johnston Jacey Johnston 5'10" | PF/SF Saint Ansgar | 2026 IA is going to be a heck of a competitor at the college level within the sport of track sole-y based on her competitiveness alone. When you pair that along with size and athletic ability, you see a whole different type of athlete. Saint Ansgar only got to Round 1 of State this past week but in that showing Johnston went crazy. (28 PPG/6 RPG) She is the only prospect out of this 1A All Tournament Team that played a single game during the week as they lost in the first round. Everyone else had to play multiple contests. She did so well showing out with her dominance in that one instance that it was impossible to keep her off of this team. It’s been quite the Winter for Johnston as a whole. She might not be playing hoops anymore but I’m sure she will always look back and smile at her domination that took place on the court the past few years.

The Saint Ansgar Saints recorded another victory on Tuesday evening to propel them to a 12-4 record moving into the end of January. In the win, the prospect that stepped up the most for either side was Forward, Jacey Johnston Jacey Johnston 5'10" | PF/SF Saint Ansgar | 2026 IA of the Saints. Johnston is a 5’10 Forward, that plays to her own strengths whenever she can. She doesn’t seem to be the type to step out and hit three’s but more-so she works inside the lane looking for her production. For example, last night Johnston was a calm 6-12 shooting, recording 14 points and 16 rebounds. As you can tell, no one from the opposing team had an answer for her and the Saints made them pay for it because of that fact.
