Jaela was the newcomer of the day at the Headliners Invitational Showcase. She’s the perfect example of why we started this event in the first place. This format created the ideal environment for Jaela to demonstrate her talents. Her length, athleticism, ability to shoot the three, hustle, capable ball-handling in the open court, rebounding presence, and footwork caught my attention. Jaela made good off-ball basket cuts, finished at the rim, and went up strong off two feet. She sprinted back in transition to stop fast breaks, grabbed rebounds with ferocity, used an effective spin pivot to create a scoring angle, and drove hard to the basket, then absorbed the contact to score an and-one bucket with her inside hand. Jaela managed to slip through the cracks until now, but she’s on our radar now and could be a great addition to a college program.
