Jamya has embraced an aggressive mindset, and it’s paying off in a big way. She’s been in full attack mode, taking what the defense gives her without second-guessing herself. Whether it’s driving to the basket, pulling up when defenders back off, or making the extra pass when help comes, Jamya is playing decisively. That confidence and willingness to be assertive has opened up the offense and made her a constant threat. Her growth over this win streak shows in how comfortable she looks reading the game and trusting her instincts.

Jamya brings elite defensive energy to her team. She’s a relentless hustle player—when the ball is in the air, she’s flying to it, and when it’s loose on the floor, she’s diving for it. She anticipates passes well and jumps the passing lanes for steals. Whether she’s locking up perimeter scorers or making effort plays that change momentum, Jamya provides the spark that keeps Southern Lab’s defense elite.

Jamya’s defensive ability is what opens up her playmaking skills. When she forces a turnover and the ball is in her hands, she is pushing the pace, she is the ultimate fast break starter. The sharp passes she is able to make in transition, her vision while running full speed down the court is rare, the game is moving so fast around her but she’s still able to make plays for her teammates.

She is the kind of athlete who consistently gives you everything she has, identifying precisely where her team is struggling and stepping up to fill that void. Her innate ability to find ways for her team to win, whether it’s through a crucial defensive stop, a timely bucket, or a pivotal assist, makes her an invaluable asset. She’s not just a player; she’s a problem-solver on the court, consistently elevating her teammates and guiding them through adversity.

As a sophomore who will soon be a rising junior who will soon be a full-fledged junior, Cain is playing up in class. She is coming off a 2024-25 season where her Southern Lab team was successful in its bid to win back-to-back state championships and it appears that momentum has translated into the travel realm. Cain stands at 5-foot-7 and is the lone Kittens representative on this season’s I.D.E. Elite 17U team. Her AAU career includes a stint with Louisiana Hoops. Cain understands the art of ball handling, has no problems getting past defenders and is willing to draw contact to get to the free throw line.
