The mixture of coordination, balance, skill, and size that Jane Rumpf brings to the hardwood is noteworthy to any evaluator that may be watching her compete. Rumpft is the type with her size and ability that can be moved around at a number of different spots on both ends of the floor. Offensively, she can knock down a handful of shots from deep of the catch or dribble, while also being able to handle and beat her opponent or post up someone that may be smaller than her in size near the block. Defensively, she can guard the smaller perimeter prospect with her natural instincts and quick first step going either way or she can sit near the paint and protect the rim. She is being featured in this article not because of just one performance from this weekend but because of her past few days as a whole. Every game I saw her, she produced in a different way in front of anyone watching.

Rumpf has maintained value as a legitimate three point shooter off the catch, stepping into a few attempts following flare screens. Bringing in a quick release at roughly 6′ tall, she is a tough opponent to contest, particularly against undersized opponents following a switch. As well, Rumpf threw quite a few fullcourt lasers to outlets, accurate on those lengthy passes.

Effective when tasked at the 4 or 5, Rumpf brings excellent defensive instincts, particularly while protecting the rim. Significantly improving her three point efficiency, up to 49%, she was arguably Regis Jesuit’s most dependable perimeter shooter this season. Given her ability to both stretch the floor and add some defensive impact in the paint, Rumpf will be a crucial two-way asset for this team.

Rumpf stayed dependable, mitigating Legend’s post scorers from gaining easy access down low. Her wide reach and effectiveness boxing out opponents was essential to slow down Legend’s post threats, taking away space and putting those opponents in uncomfortable circumstances. Certainly no easy task against two future frontcourt college athletes, Regis Jesuit remains a versatile defensive group, effective versus anyone.
