About Janelle

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a versatile player who can score at all three levels. I shoot confidently, rebound aggressively, box out consistently, and can post up when needed. I’m also strong in the fundamentals, setting solid screens and making smart plays to help my team succeed.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m a competitor who’s always working to improve. Sometimes I get in my head, but I’ve learned how to push through those moments and refocus. I stay motivated, listen to coaching, and keep growing stronger mentally and physically every game.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m actively involved in my Native American culture and community. I participate in cultural events and traditions that are important to me and my family. Being connected to my heritage has helped shape who I am on and off the court.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

ommunity service? I’ve developed strong teamwork skills by learning how to communicate, trust my teammates, and play unselfishly. I’ve also grown as a leader by encouraging others, staying positive under pressure, and leading by example through hard work and focus both in practice and during games.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One challenge I’ve faced is getting in my own head during games. I used to let mistakes or pressure throw me off. Over time, I’ve learned how to stay focused, reset quickly, and not let one play affect the next. It’s still something I work on, but I’ve gotten better at staying mentally tough and confident.

What type of college are you looking for?

’m looking for a college where I can grow as a student and an athlete. I want a competitive basketball program with coaches who will push me to get better, and a strong academic environment that helps prepare me for life after sports. I’m open to different locations, but I’m looking for a school that feels like a good fit and supports its players on and off the court.
