Janelle has been a rising player in this class since last summer when she played very well at the PrepGirlsHoops Expo. She has continued her growth on the court over the last couple months, being able to play at a high pace and score from all 3 levels. She uses her strength to her advantage in the paint, finishing buckets through contact and getting rebounds nicely.

Janelle is an exceptional control, maintaining composure and dictating the game’s tempo. She skillfully manipulates the pace, accelerating or slowing down opposing players to her advantage. Her sharpshooting from deep is highly efficient, making her a constant scoring threat. Additionally, she leverages her strength to secure rebounds, consistently boxing out opponents with precision.

Krise demonstrated poise and maturity well beyond her years, joining her teammate Wily as a First Team All-League selection. With great length and an active motor, she was a three-level scorer, capable of hitting perimeter shots with a smooth, simple stroke, as well as battling in the paint. Defensively, Krise showed sharp timing and instincts, racking up steals and blocks through her positioning and awareness. Her presence as a true two-way player made her one of the most impressive underclassmen in the league.

Janelle has been playing excellent for West Academy on the Puma NXT circuit, elevating her game in a big way and showing promise for a big breakout season next year on the court. She stays aggressive on the boards, not being afraid to stay physical and use her strength to her advantage. She scores from all 3 levels on the offensive side smoothly, having an elite deep shot paired with great handles.

Janelle is one of the most fundamentally sound players in the 2028 class. She can score from all 3 levels, she defends at a high level, she always boxes out, always runs the lanes in transition, and is a vocal player on the court. She rebounds well and knows how to use her body effectively to get the ball off the rim. She is going to keep rising within the state.

West Academy forward/guard Janelle Krise Janelle Krise 5'8" Shelton | 2028 State WA has a strong frame and went to work inside and out at the West Coast Spring Showcase. The Shelton freshman (2028) was playing up in the 17U bracket. Krise rebounds on both ends, wins the offensive board, and finishes the putback through contact and the foul. She uses her body well to get downhill or post up inside and back down the defender. She’s an efficient finisher around the rim on the turnaround or drop step. She has a quick release inside and finishes high off the glass to beat the defender’s contest. Krise has the ability to bring the ball up and she can comfortably hit the pull-up and catch-and-shoot three. If no one gets in front of her she will find the lane coast-to-coast for the athletic finish, and-1. Krise is a smart defender, beats the driver to the spot inside, stands her ground on help defense, and gets the steal.
