One of Oklahoma’s brightest stars is putting on an absolute show to close out her high school career. Williams has been a walking double for the last two months, while also hitting clutch shot after clutch shot. As Edmond Memorial heads into a Regional Championship match up against Putnam City, the Lady Bulldogs are riding a 17 game winning streak.
There’s been tough battles throughout but the pivotal win was an overtime victory over Mustang. Who forced overtime? Williams with a last second shot. Who won it in overtime? Williams with a last second shot. Notice a pattern?
These final weeks will be a celebration of Oklahoma’s arguably best ever Class of players, and Williams has been a key figure in this class since her freshman season at Stillwater. Now she’ll be leaving it all on the floor in battle for a highly competitive Class 6A Gold Ball.

Another game, another full stat sheet for the Edmond Memorial star. This 20 point, 10 rebound double-double was possibly even more impressive because the other half of the Lady Bulldogs’ dynamic duo unfortunately had to deal with foul trouble. Which meant against a tall and strong Del City frontline, Williams more often had to fight downlow. Which she more than held her own, and then also produced on the offensive end. Love the fight and seemingly never ending energy the future Oregon Duck plays with.

Bounce back game for Williams and Memorial. Had her customary do it all game. Athletic plays on defense, tough scoring on offense then handing out dimes. And of course cleaning the glass. Had 17 points and 8 rebounds to lead the way. Good way to respond after a couple of losses and set the stage for the second half of a big senior season. With everything still to play for.

Similar to her teammate Hjelmstad, Saturday also served as a reminder about how special one of Oklahoma’s finest is. There was a brief take over stretch by Wlliams that included strong and acrobatic finishes through contact. Fearless finishing at that level consistently will make her unstoppable this winter. Especially when factoring in the sweet pull up jumper she has when defenders try to sag off. Arguably the best one-two punch in Oklahoma put their best foot forward in Broken Arrow, with Gold Ball dreams firmly in mind.

Williams had me go back to the future using the search bar and a PassThaBall article popped up yet it was an event thrown by Cynthia Guillory that opened the door to what was coming. Inside, and outside, she gave me everything including going coast to coast and finishing acrobatically yet watching her elevate to score over taller players and the step back had me SMH

Outstanding guard that has a complete skill set. Friday she demonstrated why she is considered among the best in the Nation. I am always impressed with the height on the jumper shooting at the top of her shot. If you have not seen the Oregon commit you need to check her out.
Sometimes a kid has been covered enough that you really can’t add much but sit and watch them play.

Excellent size for a combo guard. A PG that at times back her girl down to the block and put a sweet turnaround jumper move for a bucket. Strong mid range game is the time I enjoyed watching. Most players try to get all the way to the rim on a drive. Janiyah has the capability to get as deep as she can then pull up on a dime for the pull up. I have always been amazed on the lift she gets on her pull up jumper. D1 commit

Williams plays with visible passion to her game and appears to be the heart and soul of Edmond Memorial. She was a dominant force from the opening jump ball to the very end. It started when she corralled a defensive rebound, pushed it was ease down the court and drilled a 8-10 footer. Her next level athleticism remained on display throughout with more rebounds, a big time block, and outstanding finishing through contact. She was simply unstoppable on drives, while even hunting post up mismatches. Including sealing perfectly when an opponent tried to front of her, catching the pass and easily scoring two points.
The junior made a couple winning plays in the fourth. She took a big charge, which she was just as fired up to take the charge as any of the points she scored. Then when the lead was cut to three in the final two minutes, she buried a tough 15 footer to stop the bleeding. Williams was among the Lady Bulldogs to hit free throws to salt away the game.
