About Jaslene

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I like to think I am a team first player. Whatever team I am playing for, I am what I need to be. I can be the support get passes inside, rebounds, run and gun, get down the court and be a defensive stop or slow down, be patient, If I need to step up and be that offensive power, I know I am capable. Being impactful and helping us be successful, whatever that may look like.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

People describe me as easy going. I can get along with anyone. I am a competitor and when I step on that court, I want to do the best I can to get a win. I try hard not to let the outside noise affect me. I am focused on what is going on in front of me. I might get frustrated, but it is never aimed at anyone other than me.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

BETA, Gifted & Talented, Natl Honor Society, Northern Plains Indian Club, Fast Pitch, Golf Fr-JOM Academic Award-Medals: Phy Sci, Spanish & Certs: Geometry, Eng, Comp Sci, OK Hist So-JOM Academic Award, Title VI Academic Achievement Award-Medals: Bio I & Certs Alg II, Comp Sci, Fin Lit Jr-Title VI Academic Achievement Award-Medals: Chem, Pre Calc, Eng 3 & Certs: Trig, World Cltrs

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Leadership, it was not something I was comfortable with especially as a 14 yo Freshman. I had to grow my mental strength, I had to accept that leadership role. I definitely had to dig deep to become a steadfast player, to be that stable leader for my team; especially when I was the only returning starter in my Junior year.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Working through loss, persevering through injury: those two areas are tough for anyone. I am no different.
