Jayden Fitzgerald Jayden Fitzgerald 5'6" | PG/SG Kennedy Catholic | 2028 State WA is a name to keep on your radar in Washington’s Class of 2028. The Kennedy Catholic guard brings an explosive attacking style, knows how to use her body to create space, and plays exceptionally well off two feet. She gets downhill with purpose, bumps defenders to establish position, and has the strength and body control to finish through contact.

What makes Jayden especially difficult to guard is her versatility as a scorer. She has legitimate range beyond the arc, but closing out hard on her comes with its own risks. She can use the shot fake to get defenders off their feet, then punish them with a floater or pull-up in the midrange. Her ability to finish with either hand, particularly her left, gives her another weapon when navigating traffic in the paint.

Jayden already showed she can rise to the occasion on a big stage. At last year’s state tournament, she erupted for 32 points in an early 9 a.m. game, helping lead Kennedy Catholic to the semifinals. That kind of performance speaks to her scoring ability and her willingness to take on the moment when it matters.

With her explosiveness, three-level scoring package, and ability to create advantages in a variety of ways, Fitzgerald is a Class of 2028 prospect worth continuing to watch.

Fitzgerald is a guard who constantly pressures defenses with her ability to attack off the dribble. Once she turns the corner, she accelerates quickly and has the creativity to score in multiple situations around the floor. She handles the ball with confidence and plays with a strong natural feel, allowing her to make advanced reads while creating offense. Her vision stands out just as much as her scoring, as she consistently spots teammates in advantageous positions. On defense, she competes aggressively, using quick reactions, active hands, and strong footwork to create problems for opposing ball handlers while also contributing as a rebounder.

Fitzgerald delivered a standout performance in the third-place game, finishing with 22 points and controlling the offensive tempo for the Lancers. She repeatedly got to the free throw line and converted 10-of-11 attempts, providing a steady stream of points in a tight contest. When Lake Washington made runs, Fitzgerald’s ability to create offense helped Kennedy Catholic maintain its composure. She also contributed across the stat sheet with rebounds and assists, showing her ability to impact the game in multiple ways. That combination of scoring efficiency and leadership played a major role in securing the Lancers’ win.

Fitzgerald delivered a dominant scoring performance with 32 points while shooting 11-of-23 from the field. She also knocked down two three-pointers and converted eight free throws.

Her ability to create offense throughout the game helped Kennedy Catholic maintain control and secure the quarterfinal win.

Here is the newest addition to the 2028 top 5. Jayden is a gritty point guard who does a fantastic job at breaking down defenders off the dribble. She dives for loose balls, plays tight defense, and is always vocal. Those are key things that stand out on the court. She was first team in her league for a reason and could be a candidate to win the MVP next season.

She got downhill well, having multiple ways to get to her spots and find her open teammates. Fitzgerald uses both hands when attacking and has a soft touch in the paint. I am excited to see her growth over the years.
