Expert Analysis

I saw Jayla later in the evening Friday, and I felt like she was one of the better players on her court. She is a well-rounded athlete with a wiry-strong frame, she moves well in most directions, and she plays with some bounce. She showed the ability offensively to handle it some in transition, even initiate the offense, but she also basket cut and got inside, flashed to the mid-post, and attacked from there. Defensively, she was effortful and had to defend mostly inside, but she boxed out well and on-time, rebounded well, and pursued rebounds outside of her area.

had several impressive performances throughout the spring AAU season and proved she can consistently compete against strong competition. She brings toughness, athleticism, and energy to the floor while making her presence felt around the basket.
Ash rebounds aggressively and does a strong job finishing in traffic offensively. She also showed flashes of being able to defend multiple positions and compete in transition situations. What stood out most during the spring was her effort level and willingness to do the little things that help teams win games. As she continues developing her offensive skill set, Ash has the potential to continue climbing within Indiana’s 2028 class rankings.

Jayla is as tough as nails- I’m confident that she could play just about every position. Has such great attack mode going to the rim, shows physicality on the inside and finesse shooter from behind the arc! She is a play maker! (Below stealing ball)

Jayla is an intriguing young forward who plays with some versatility. First, she has length, a wiry-strong frame, and she’s a solid athlete in most directions. She has a nice motor and is willing to be physical around the paint, often looking to attack contact to attempt to finish or draw fouls. She also flashed a solid mid-post game and looked most comfortable there for now. She showed some comfort around the perimeter, and that part of her game should grow in time.
