About Jaylise

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m an aggressive and competitive player who plays with a lot of energy. I focus on defense first before my offense to get me ready and set for the game pushing the pace, and making smart plays for my teammates. I like shooting 3-pointer's, creating opportunities, and doing whatever helps my team win.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m a hardworking and determined person, who always wants to improve. I stay positive, humble, coachable, and focused on getting better everyday. I try to be a good teammate and leader by encouraging others and giving my best effort on and off the court

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I focus a lot on balancing school and basketball being a student-athlete has helped me stay disciplined with my time, academics, and responsibilities which lead me to getting honor roll for putting in hard work, helping unified kids for fall sports getting to meet new people and creating friendship's ,and getting involved in dual enrollment, while also continuing to work toward my goals

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Basketball has helped me develop strong teamwork, communication, and leadership skills I’ve learned how to support my teammates, stay disciplined, and work hard toward shared goals being part of a team has taught me accountability, patience, and how to push myself to be better while also getting others around me to improve while also helping unified kids with there sports as community service.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One challenge I faced is trying to manage the three sports I play while also being in school and managing my grades so I can be better on and off the court for people around me and how to stay focused under pressure those experiences have helped me grow stronger mentally and motivated me to keep improving

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for college where I can grow both academically and athletically. I want a program that values hard work, teamwork, and development while giving me the opportunity to compete at a high level and continue improving as a player and student.
