“Floor General. That is how I would describe Jazlyn Rhodes of AIA 17U EYBL. Rhodes is a feisty lefty, that loves to consistently attack the defense off the bounce. She isn’t afraid to let it go from behind the three point line either but it’s definitely not her main objective when she is running the offense. This seems to me to the player for this group to get behind when the clock is dwindling down. We haven’t seen that situation before but if it were to happen during bracket play over the next few days, I could see Rhodes putting her head down and going to work as their player to look too.”

Rhodes came off the bench for All Iowa Attack in game one, but played so well that she ended starting for her team in game two. She was instant energy and a game changer when she checked in grabbing an offensive rebound and knocking down a corner three within seconds. She was able to add another three offensive rebounds in the game to go along with several steals. The biggest play she made was right before the half, where the southpaw caught the ball on the right wing, made a quick move, and then drove left before hitting a floater in the paint as time expired in the first half. Rhodes excellent play continued throughout the tournament with similar contributions scoring and rebounding. Her quickness changed the game on both ends as she was a nuisance to ball handlers with her pressure and pushed the ball on the break at every chance on the offensive end. Overall I thought Rhodes was excellent attacking the basket, pushing pace, knocking down open shots, and being a disruptor on defense.

A smooth and athletic 5’9″ point guard who led St. Teresa’s to a berth in the Class 5 state championship game as a sophomore. She is a smooth offensive player, but she can also wreak havoc on the defensive end, as shown by her nine steals in the state semifinals against Helias. She creates well off the dribble and she can score in the lane or on pull up jumpers. She played with All-Iowa Attack during the summer. She also holds numerous Division I offers.

The 5’9″ 2027 had the most impressive defensive display of any individual player here in Columbia, boys or girls. She had nine steals in the Stars victory over Helias in the Class 5 semifinals. She was a one-girl full court press and she picked pockets in the open court and shot the passing lanes for steals. Her anticipation and tenacity were uncanny. She also scored nine points as she used her quickness and change of direction to get into the lane off the dribble.
