How about senior urgency mixed with championship experience? Since her freshman year, Brown has been through the playoff wars with Putnam City West. Which ended last year with a last second win in the Class 6A State Title game, where her defense was crucial in their efforts. Now she’s bringing the same elite athleticism, tenacity and defensive IQ to a Douglass team that has a strong chance to win it all in Class 4A. There’s a ton of talent on the Douglass roster, with their own experience after reaching the 4A semifinals last year. But expect Brown to be a difference maker, by making that one extra stop on defense. Diving for that one extra possession by wining a 50-50 ball. And while the basketball-track star is focused on Gold, she’s also picking up new college opportunities. As Grayson (TX) extended an offer this week.

One of the best athletes in the class (with the medals and honors in track to add to her basketball accolades), Brown has been an impact defender since her freshman season at Putnam City West. She was a key part of last year’s Class 6A championship, and now will bring that experience to a surging Douglass program. Brown is a gamechanger on the defensive end, using her athleticism and size to smoother guards. While also capable of playing in the paint to slow down taller players and battle on the boards. Along with her tenacity on the ball, she covers loads of ground off the ball and is a havoc causer in passing lanes.

has transferred to 4a Douglass. Jazzlin transfer over to Douglass after winning the Gold Ball last season for 6a PCW. Jazzlin at 6’1 brings a long athletic body with a great skill set to a already loaded Douglass team. Great defender that can defend in the paint as well as on the perimeter. A perfect fit into the Lady Trojan system which strides on defense. Earned Conference 6th women of the year last season in a very tough district.
A special type athlete that has already received several D1 track offers After a strong summer on the circuit I would expect several basketball offers as well. Jazzlin could be a 2 sport type player in college.

Brown showed she could play multiple positions and when you factor in she’s “long and athletic” and stands above “the magic number” Her intangibles shine because she defends inside the paint and can step outside of it and apply “on the ball” pressure. She also played the passing lane and scored off the dribble

One of the top overall athletes in Oklahoma, Brown has been a key part of the successful recent run for Putnam City West. Which was capped off in March with a Class 6A State Championship. She uses her elite level track speed and athletic ability to be a terror on the defensive end. Some of this comes from her mindset that seems to be that every rebound, every looseball belongs to hers. She also has good fundamentals as an on the ball defender. It’s something that she obviously takes pride in, and it has paid off. As in the closing seconds of the State Title, it was her defense on the ball that forced a poor shot, securing the title. Rather it’s basketball or running track, Brown has a collegiate future.

I’m not sure what Jazzlin is going to college for, but if she keeps her grades up, she will be going to college. She is the fastest 200m runner in the state, which she could probably do in college. She could also use that speed, as she does during the fall and winter, on the basketball court. That’s not to say she’s a player who just all out sprints, uncontrolled, up and down the court. No, far from it. She has tremendous handles and for someone with great size, she is light on her feet and very intentional in her movement. She runs the floor well and can shoot the lights out from all levels. Brown is a big-time prospect and I would dare say that having recently picked up her second offer for a 2025 is not enough. College coaches are going to regret missing out on Jazzlin.
