Prep Girls Hoops got a few glimpses of Cothran throughout the travel season as she also wore the signature purple of FCA Eagles. The AAU team had stellar showings throughout the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit including at Music City Showdown in Tennessee and at the Triumph Region Finals at Spartanburg’s Upward Star Center. The primary calling card of Cothran’s game is the 3-point shot. If she is open from the perimeter, one can count that her team’s point total will increase by three. Her versatility shows itself as she can find playing time as either a wing or guard. Cothran throws defenses off with her ability to get to the rim and plays with a high basketball IQ as someone who knows when to pass and when to score.

Prep Girls Hoops saw plenty of Cothran over the spring and summer months as she temporarily put aside her navy and Columbia blue Cavaliers uniform for the purple of FCA Eagles 2024. She had stellar outings on the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit’s Triumph Region – including at Music City Showdown in Tennessee and at the Triumph Region Finals at Spartanburg‘s Upward Star Center. The bread and butter for Cothran is hitting 3-pointers and she was true on a bevy of them throughout the last few months. She also is versatile as someone who can log productive minutes at the wing or at one of the guard positions. Cothran plays with a high basketball IQ and knows when to score and when to distribute.

Cothran became a familiar name to Prep Girls Hoops writers throughout the spring and summer during the AAU months. She participated on the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit’s Triumph Region with FCA Lady Eagles 2024 and her team participated in a number of events. These included Music City Showdown in Franklin, Tennessee and the Triumph Region Finals at Spartanburg’s Upward Star Center. Cothran is gifted as one of the premier 3-point shooters in the state but also can drive to the basket. She throws opposing defenders for a loop as they are unsure as to if she will attack, shoot or pass. Overall, she typically plays as a two guard. Her Cavaliers will be a team to watch this coming season in a 5A landscape that changed drastically over the offseason.

She can play as either a guard or a wing and knows when to score and when to pass. Cothran looks poised for a big 2022-23 with the 5A Cavaliers.
