Expert Analysis

This is my second week in a row watching Jessa ball out. She makes a ton of positive plays for her team and it doesn’t always have to be from scoring the ball. She hustles after loose balls, plays great defense, and brings an edge to the court. She is a great competitor and brings the energy. She was great at attacking the basket and extending the defense with her three-point shooting. I was also impressed with her ‘second-cut’ after a primary drive for an easy basket.

Jessa had a really nice day and it was fun to see her compete. I got to watch her dominate the 1-on-1 session. She was great at attacking closeouts and defender’s high-side to gain an advantage going to the basket. She had great body control and maintained balance on her finishes despite getting bumped. Spickler has a good shot and quick release that translated to multiple three-point makes throughout the day. Jessa stands at 5’6 and would make a quality guard at the NAIA, Junior College, or Division 3 level. She moves well enough to be very competitive in those divisions. She is speedy and has good quickness to play solid defense.

Jessa is the heart of Griggs Midkota’s offense. She is able to knock down threes and get downhill against tough defenses. She has great lift on her shot and plays with great pace. Jessa is a very reliable player for Griggs Midkota on both sides of the floor.

Jessa is a returning varsity player for Griggs-Midkota and a very nice player. She has speed and quickness and plays very hard. I like her on-ball defense, particularly in the full-court. She is able to turn her opponents and speed them up into difficult passes which oftentimes lead to a turnover. She is a good shooter, having a quick release and nice arc on the perimeter. Jessa averaged just under 10 points per game as a freshman and is well on her way to improving upon that number this season.
