Skylar and her sister Jurnee made the long trek to Fargo from Divide County, over a 6 hour drive. I am glad they both made it and got a chance to see them line up against fantastic competition. Skylar recently received an offer to play college basketball at Mayville State University. A Junior College coach and friend of mine also said he really likes Wehrman. She is a good athlete who competes hard on the floor. Skylar is a quality shooter who can spread the floor for her team. She has zero hesitation taking deep threes providing even more driving room for her teammates. Skylar is also good at using her athletic ability to attack the bucket.

Wehrman is an All-Region talent and a leader on a Divide County squad that only graduates 2 seniors. She has taken her leadership role seriously and done a fantastic job the last two years. Skylar is an impressive athlete on the court. She has a quick first step and is really good at attacking the basket and getting to the free-throw line. She is good at playing off of two feet which can eliminate turning the ball over. She has a great ‘next-play’ mentality on the rare occasion when she does turn the ball over. Divide County will make some noise next year because of Skylar’s great play.

Skylar is a high quality prospect who has the athleticism to play at the next level. She had a standout season this last year as a sophomore and will need to take the next step to help her young Divide County squad compete next year. She is a good athlete with good lateral quickness. She thrives at getting to the basket and has an array of finishes to choose from. She has a great looking shot and can hit the deep three. She will learn some valuable lessons these next two season by becoming her team’s leader, a quality not overlooked by colleges.

Skylar made the long trip to Fargo and had a great day. She was effective in gameplay and showed her athleticism off. She ran the floor hard and wide and got up the court in a hurry. She displayed great effort and attitude. She was really crafty getting the rim, utilizing a sweet up-and-under spin move multiple times. She showed off her nice looking three-point shot with a quick release.

Skylar is a really good player for the Divide County Maroons. She has everything you look for in a guard: size, speed, athleticism, shooting, and decision making. She also is a very nice defender. Last season she was an All-District selection and is well on her way to getting a spot back on that team this year as well as a spot on the All-Region team. She and her little sister are going to put Divide County on the map in the next two-and-a-half years.
