Banks was one of the most dynamic guards on the floor in Chicago, playing with confidence, exceptional pace, and creativity every time she touched the ball. She created offense by breaking down defenders off the dribble, knocking down threes without hesitation, attacking gaps to finish at the rim, and delivering timely passes to open teammates for easy scoring opportunities. With college coaches lining the sidelines to watch, she backed up the attention by making plays on both ends of the floor, turning steals into transition points and impacting the game as both a scorer and facilitator.

controlled the tempo from start to finish, averaging 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists per game while proving she could take over as both a scorer and facilitator. Banks posted three games with at least eight assists, including a 15-point, 10-assist double-double against Essence, and consistently put teammates in position to succeed with her vision and decision-making.
One of the biggest beneficiaries was 6-foot-3 forward Emily Forrester, who turned those opportunities into points at an elite rate. Forrester averaged 13 points and 5 rebounds while shooting an outstanding 63% from the field, highlighted by a 21-point performance against Indiana One. Whether finishing around the basket, running the floor in transition, or stepping out to knock down the occasional three, she made defenses pay whenever Banks found her. Together, Banks’ ability to create and Forrester’s efficiency as a finisher gave Team Durant one of the most difficult offensive combinations to defend throughout the weekend.

Banks put forth such a great performance at the Shooting Stars competition that even Washington Mystics star Shakira Austin remarked, “She carried.” As a combo guard, opposing defenders have to watch for if she will attack the basket or utilize her crafty handles into a step back 3-point shot. Even when putting multiple defenders on her, Banks understands how to work around those double teams and understands when the correct occasions are to score and when to distribute. Banks competed in 26 contests last season for St. James while averaging 14.3 points, 5.4 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game.

Jezelle “GG” Banks put on an absolute show. With the ball in her hands, every possession felt like a highlight waiting to happen. Her ability to anticipate the next action and deliver perfect passes, paired with her three-level scoring ability is special to watch. What separates her, though, is her leadership. On a baseline out-of-bounds play, she was directing teammates into position before quickly delivering a pass for an open look. There’s a reason she’s regarded as one of the top players in her class. GG is a true floor general in complete control.
