Joi Pergerson scored 19 points in a win for Middle Creek over Apex on Friday night. Pergerson can score in bunches from transition for her team. She can also create steals and start the fastbreak for her team. In the victory, she had 3 steals, 2 blocks, and 5 rebounds. This season, Pergerson is averaging 16 points per game while scoring in a variety of ways. She can score inside, she can score outside, she has three range, and Pergerson can get to the foul line.

Joi, who recently crossed the 1000 point mark in her high school career, is still available and should be seriously consider if you are a program looking to bring in a talented player. Offensively, she is a player that if she gets a head of steam heading to the basket has the ability to finish around the rim. She can shoot the three ball. Defensively, she is a terror. She uses her size, length, and athleticism to frustrate offensive players and create turnovers.

Pergerson can also shoot it from the three. In this game, she scored inside and outside, forced steals, and earned trips to the foul line. Pergerson ended the game with 21 points to lead all scorers. 

Joi Pergerson has some nice height as a guard making her able to easily elevate over her opponents to score some points.  She’s quick pushing the ball up the court after she has used her length to cause deflections and grab the steal taking it coast to coast.  She does the little things as a guard, too, like crashing the boards going after rebounds.

It’s not often you find a player who can put up the kind of numbers that Joi put up last season and still find themselves under the radar. Joi averaged 16 points to go along with 6 rebounds for Middle Creek during the 2022-2023 campaign. She is a big guard whose size at the position can cause headaches for opponents as she can use her length to deflect passes and block shots. Joi does a great job converting turnovers into easy transition buckets.  She also does a good job using her size to attack the basket and she can finish with either her right or left hand at the rim. Really love the way she gets inside for a high percentage shots rather than settling for long jumpers. However, she can certainly hit the long range shot when she needs to. 

Pergerson is a pesky defender that creates a lot of opportunity for her team with her activity on and off the ball.  She routinely creates fast break chances for herself and others with her defensive ability. She is also a good shooter that has the ability to make catch and shoot jumpers on the regular from the three point line.
