The ELC Midgets didn’t bring home the state title this year but that shouldn’t overshadow the type of season they put together. The Midgets ended their season at 24-1 with their only loss coming at the state tournament to a buzz-saw of a team in Vinton-Shellsburg. The two leading scorer for the Midgets over this season and the past few are Hayley and

. Jordyn for her senior year averaged 14.4 PPG on 42% shooting from the field, including 82% from the line and 40% from behind the arc. This was a big part to the Midgets success this past year as teams would hone in and try to stop one of the Stokes sisters each and every game. In the state tournament both sisters showed what they could do and left it all out on the floor. I’m not sure if Jordyn is committed to playing at the next level or not but if she were there is definitely a team out there who could use her talents on both ends of the floor. She just has to find the right fit for herself.

will re-join the Midgets for her senior year after an impressive junior campaign, ending in her scoring 9 points in the state championship game which added up to 20% of their scoring as they won 44-30 over Ballard High School. Stokes averaged 7.4 PPG and 2.2 RPG during the 21′-22′ season to help her team win it all. She has been working hard in the off-season and will look to help accomplish the same this year by expanding her game to another level. Being the starting 2 guard, she will strive to become a better jump shooter and “find her spots” more. She is a quick guard with good IQ around the basket to make the right decision, if there is another thing that will help her add to her “bag”, it’s the ability to shoot/score the ball from all three levels, making defenses play true to their spots and not letting them over-help on
