Outstanding performance for her new team as they reached the finals this past weekend for University of Tulsa commit. Great height for a combo guard that can shoot the 3 or take you strong to the rim. At time Josie got hot rolling off a run of her own for the Lady Wolves.
Often overlooked at times causer of her scoring is her defensive ability. An aggressive rebounder , hustler and never taking a play off earned her All Tournament honors. An exciting player to watch

Often high level seniors like Megehee look like they see the game in slow motion. And that’s exactly how it felt watching big time shotmaker show off other skilled aspects of her game in a blowout victory for the Lady Wolves. One play in the second quarter she tipped a pass, scooped up the loose ball, took a dribble, then executed a perfect ball fake that had the defending going the other way and she scored an easy two at the rim. She tracked down long rebounds, even swatted a couple shots on defense. It was a common theme from her, as she made big time plays that looked like they were on easy mode. It wasn’t a game where her volume scoring was required, as everyone ate for the Lady Wolves. But she did drill a nasty stepback three early on that helped set the tone in their wire to wire victory.

One of the top scorers in the small town ranks is closing out her career in Class 5A for Shawnee. Expect her to raise to the nightly challenges by still handing out buckets. Especially as one of the tougher covers off the dribble in Oklahoma. Megehee has a silky smooth jumper, that allows her to feast in the mid-range. And connect from long distance. The Tulsa commit was impressive this spring and summer against quality competition across the country. Playing on a deeper grassroots team team, it was easy to see how she could potentially find her footing quickly for Tulsa with timely triples.

Tulsa commit Josie is a flat out scorer. A deadly shooting guard coming off the ball screen makes her one of those type players you must fight over all screens. I say that as a compliment cause to me that is a skill set that is hard to master. At 5’10 with a long wing span she does an excellent job at creating space with the dribble or bump getting a high lift on her shot release making it difficult to block. A complete guard that also is a great defender as well.
- Named First Team Little All City Pts Avg 24.9
- After Junior Season has reached 1,837 Career Points
- North Canadian River Valley Conference 2024 MVP

Game Watched: Unity Basketball vs Team Moriah Jefferson
The other half of Unity’s elite shooting duo, it was Megehee’s big shots that helped take them home to a victory in the second half. She knocked down a go ahead three late, which was the capper of a brilliant second half shooting performance from deep and the mid-range. Along with the strong perimeter shooting, she capped the game off by punishing the defense for overplaying her with a good take to the rim. After watching the Tulsa commitment have a tough time in the 3A State Tournament, it was great to see her at the peak of her next level scoring powers fitting in well with her loaded AAU squad.

The junior had an outstanding season for the Lady Wildcats, and had to deal with the waves of pressure and size that Washington threw at her. Her obvious plus athletic traits stood out with her movements. Especially on the defensive end with high motor plays to track down loose balls and rebounds, while also playing big around the basket. At times it looked like the defensive focus was making her press on the offensive end, but she still showed some nice skill and touch with mid-range scores later in the game.

Josie has proved all season that she is one of the top players in Oklahoma’s 2025 class. She has size and strength, separating her from most players and her will to compete and win makes her special. She shoots the ball at a high clip from beyond the 3-point line and has proved to be a threat from deep. She is a competitor and doesn’t settle for shots, she attacks the basket and can find other ways to contribute to the game. She rebounds with the best of them and also works on the defensive end on and off the ball. Josie is a player that is just getting started and has the potential to be great for sure.
