. Houston has returned this Winter off of injury from last and she looks just as good as she did prior to it happening. She doesn’t have any noticeable limp or slowness in her steps, she is still as sharp has can be mentally with the strategic side of the game, and she is playing simply basketball leading to some positive results. Davenport North is always in the State conversation for their Class because of their two stars and that will be the case once again this season.

‘s case, this phrase is used because she had a season ending injury a year ago and she is looking to make an even bigger comeback for her Senior season at Davenport North. A lot of people forget that Houston was the top prospect in this 2025 Class in Iowa to start her high school career over LSU commit and high school teammate,

. Over time, things changed a little bit and other athletes came into their own but that doesn’t change the fact that Houston is an Iowa commit and one heck of a ball player. She has fantastic size and ability at 5’10, while being a player of opportunity. During Nike Nationals a few years ago, she was cutting to the hoop in transition for easy buckets, she was hitting open shots at the rim over smaller defenders, and she was even stepping out to hit her patented step-back three pointer over anyone who wanted it. I’m hoping this is all going to be on full display once again this Winter and it’ll also translate to the floor at Iowa, once she eventually gets there.

of Davenport North is going to embody this statement over the next year of high school Varsity ball. Houston is coming off of a year where she had to take a break because of an injury but I’ve heard that she is back to full strength and ready to show the state how great she can really be. Houston is a the mixture of a CG/SF on the high school floor but with the Hawkeyes, she should sit at more of the 2/3 position because of her size. It’ll be really interesting to see how she fits into that program by the time that she gets to that level. It’ll come down to who else they have on roster but no matter, if Houston works hard enough and finds her niche with the group, she will thrive. We are still somewhat a good distance from all that but it is something to pounder while looking forward.

didn’t fall into the Top 10 for me in this is because she has been injured for the past year and I haven’t seen her compete live in over a year because of that. She ended her Junior high school season off with an injury early-on in the Winter and she didn’t play AAU this Summer. That shouldn’t take away from Houston’s skill or ability in any way though. She is a nationally ranked player for her Class and she is an Iowa commit, who is going to be able to step up and produce for the Hawkeyes before you know it at the Combo Guard position. As long as she continues to come back from her injury and do her best, she should continue to thrive once again.

after suffering an injury that cut her year short during the 2023-2024 high school season. Houston is an Iowa commit and one of the most seasoned prospects out of this 2025 Class throughout the state of Iowa. Houston is the type of player that has size at 5’11 to handle a weaker defender, she can shoot off of the catch or dribble with a small amount of space, and she is very good at cutting to the rim for easy buckets in transition. I’m not sure if Houston will be competing during July with her

had an injury cut her high school season short but she has recovered at a steady rate and she is ready to give it all she has this upcoming Winter season on the court at Davenport North. Houston is a future Iowa Hawkeye and someone that is going to be a staple on the floor at the collegiate level over the next few seasons for the Hawkeyes once she graduates. In this most recent update on ESPNW, Houston comes in at #74 in the 2025 Class and that’s a spot she should be proud of if you are considering all factors. Think about it. She hasn’t played in more than six months and she is still a high ranking prospect in the country to consider. As long as she takes her time on her recovery at this point in the game, she is going to come back stronger than ever.

of Davenport North High School had her season end due to injury but that doesn’t change the fact that she is an Iowa Hawkeye’s commit for the future and one hell of a prospect when she is healthy. Houston is returning off of a knee injury but she is looking to come back better then ever. She is currently ranked #50 on ESPNW’s Top 60 for the 2025 Class nation-wide. Houston has as game of a mixture of a Combo Guard and a Small Forward. She has some size to be able to back down smaller opponents, while usually getting easy buckets by running the floor in transition. She also has the ability to step out and hit a nasty step-back jumper if she deems it necessary. I don’t think that Houston will have the chance to come back this AAU season and at this point, I wouldn’t push it. She is already a D1 commit to the Hawkeyes and that won’t change. I’m sure the Iowa coaching staff would appreciate it if she took some more time to herself to get right prior to lacing her kick’s again.

will lace up her kicks with the Iowa Hawkeyes for her collegiate career but before that, she is looking to return from injury in tip-top shape. Houston is a talented Combo Guard/Small Forward, who can be moved around on the floor, depending on what her offense is asking of her. With her natural height of 5’10, in college she will not be a post player by any means but she does have the ability to move a smaller defender into the painted area, if the opportunity presents itself. She has the knowledge of the game to know when it’s best to attack her defender or to rotate the ball for a better look. When it comes to defense, she is disciplined. She stays down on pump fakes and does a great job of making her presence felt with a well-timed bump or two, demonstrating that she isn’t afraid to mix it up with any bigger opponents. Half way throughout this high school season, Houston suffered an injury that sidelined her for the rest of this year. Hopefully she can turn a corner and come back even stronger. She is the definition of a competitor so I would expect nothing less. This off-time has given her a little mental break but I’m sure that she is itching to get back on the court this Summer. As for now, she will take our #4 spot in this Update.

is going to take her talents to the Hawkeyes after her high school career comes to a close but right now she is only worried about one thing and that is bringing home a State Championship. Houston is the definition of a gamer and a difference maker. She stands at 5’10 with great wherewithal on the court. A majority of the time, she beats her opponents down the floor, usually scoring easy buckets in transition. If not, she is skilled enough to either take her matchup into the post for an easy look near the rim or she can use her patterned step-back move to create some space for a jump-shot behind the three point line. This Davenport North Wildcats team is legit. They have 3-4 college level players at the moment, with two of those being future Power 5 competitors. If they play team basketball and their role players step up this post season, they are going to be one of the teams to beat going in the State Tournament.

of the Davenport North Wildcats is legit. The future Iowa Hawkeye’s commit, is someone that has been producing in every category, thoroughly the past few years. Houston plays the combo guard/small position on the high school floor and she has been helping her team kill it this year. To start the season, the Wildcats took their team out of state to Minnesota to kick things off. They ended their trip 0-2 and started their season the same way but since, they have been undefeated and fantastic. A big reason for that being the play of their star upperclassmen. When you go to watch Houston play on any given night, you know what you are going to get. A sensational player, that is going to be able to help her home state Hawkeyes in the next few years. She is consistent, physically, and works smarter rather then harder. If she can keep that up, she is going to be name we continue to hear over the next few years in this state.
